Will we win another game this year?

I am not sure from the product on the field if we can win another game this year. We are at a very low point. This may be the worse Nebraska team I have seen in years. We might be able to beat Purdue but who knows.

Don't know but I sure wouldn't bet one cent on it happening right now.

The problem is that last year you could see steady improvement as the season went on giving rise to all that pre season optimism. This year it is the opposite. Our defense now, for example, seems to be multiple times worse than it was at the beginning of the season. I attribute that to a deteriorating player mental state as defense has always been about being emotionally motivated.

But the offense has it's share of problems as well. They may have generated a lot of yards in yesterday's game but they also made some big blunders at times.

I bet we get to 6-6 for a bowl game.

Purdue probably. Iowa’s offense might keep Nebraska in it at home. Maryland is also a dumpster fire.
Yes, but those games are on the road. We better hope the opposing team’s bands don’t stare down our players during warmups, cause that might be all it takes to scare the piss out of them...

No way, the defense is a shambles hell Lincoln high could score at will on these guys, some have checked out already. Another 4-8 season, frost needs to do a lot of soul searching on his defensive coaches in the off season

Scott Frost said it at the beginning of the year, We are a 4 and 8 team...

Shut out for the rest of the year. This is the worst Nebraska team I have seen in my 56 years. They just don't give a damn.

Purdue sucks.

If we lose that.

Coach's need to be fired somewhere at the end of the season.

No joke, I swear - a couple fat *** guys in the University of Minnesota marching band were flexing on the Husker players as they were heading for the tunnel after the loss to the Gophers.

It’s a legit question. If we don’t beat Purdue then I’d say highly chance of no. And I don’t even want to imagine that.

I think the Indiana was a must win to take pressure off the team and get closer to the 6 win mark. Now the pressure is mounting and I don’t think the players have the mental resolve to pull it off. Hope I’m wrong.

If the Offense continues to play well and the Defense shows up, then they should be able to beat Purdue. If they turnover the ball, make the same mental mistakes, commit costly penalties, they lose. Same outlook with Maryland. That would get us the two wins needed to become Bowl eligible.

Right now, I give Iowa a 65% chance of winning in Lincoln.

I don’t think we have much of a chance beating Wisconsin. That should be our defacto bowl game and the players should lay it all on the line and bring it to Wisconsin - a team we’ve only beaten once since joining the Big 10. Wisconsin believes they own the Big 10 West. We need to show up for that game, be physical, and let them know playing us won’t be easy going forward. I really hope this happens!

The fact that Indiana put up points was not a surprise. The way we struggled in stopping them on 3rd and long was a problem though. The offense was encouraging but our QB injury situation is getting pretty dire right now. Indiana is a pretty darned good team this year especially on offense. They've got playmakers at multiple skill positions. There's a reason that they've only got 2 losses.

The reason that they have only got three losses is that they play dogshit teams like the Huskers.

Purdue is really, really weak. Huskers should get that win for sure. Or we all need to wear brown paper bags at the Wisconsin game.

The Iowa prediction is pretty optimistic. You must still be sipping some koolaid.

My numbers are a little better than what ESPN predicts but how is me predicting an Iowa win drinking Koolaid? lol

I have Iowa favored to beat us at home. I give us a 35% chance to win (Iowa 65%). I expect a close hard fought game similar to last year.

Can you imagine if we hadn’t gotten lucky against Illinois and Northwestern and were 2-6? Illinois, also 4-4, is now our marquee win. The other 3 teams we beat are 5-18.

As Illinois showed vs Wisconsin this year and Purdue vs fosu last year any team can win on a given day in this league. It comes down to being ready to play.

Purdue is really, really weak? Just like Nebraska?

Remember last year before the Purdue game in Lincoln? Frost said their next game is a team they can beat. How did that work out?

One more win to finish 5-7 and no bowl game.

I think we get at least one of the two on the road at either Purdue or Maryland. Call me crazy, but I'm less worried about Wisconsin than Iowa. Dont think we win either though unless we make some kind of season saving adjustment on defense.

How in the world did we “get lucky” in either of those games? I suppose the no call on the PI in the NW game, but we were on the short side of the officiating screw ups big time in that game. We also had our QB injured and our mash unit kicking left points out there. And Illinois game we out gained them 700 to 300. That was getting lucky?

So if we weren’t unlucky against CU and Indiana we would be 6-2?

Not so fast. If you think back 15 years there are many contenders for worst ever.

I think we’re done winning this year. I know Purdue and Maryland are bad. So is Nebraska. Purdue and Maryland look at Nebraska as a very winnable game and will likely play well enough to win.

You al can beat Maryland and purdue. You have to pray Randal M is not back. Him and bell are really good. If not you will get two more for sure wins. Maryland is really bad

I don’t think we do. Scratch Wisconsin and Iowa, they will embarrass us. That leaves Purdue and Maryland. Only way we beat them is if the opponent beats themselves. We’re not smart enough to impose our will against anyone in a power 5 conference.

I think Maryland is the last chance for a win.

I don't like the Purdue game, I think their coaches find a couple of plays that work on offense and keep calling them. Our DC won't have an answer.

If you have enough talent and can play chess it will be good enough to beat Chins playing checkers and our Offense just isn't good enough right now to make up for it.

Also Purdue is a road game and we all know how well that usually works out.

We are looking at 4-8 or 5-7. Attitudes don't go away unless they leave or sit. Don't think Frost or his staff have the guts to sit them.

Purdue is a wreck and MD won't be as motivated as Nebraska will be.

You guys hit hard and I will assume get Martinez back. Good luck the rest of the way.

Both are away games, aren't they? Automatic losses for this mentally weak bunch.
