I question this more and more the older I get. I’m not nearly as invested as I used to be. I did watch more games this year. But when we come out looking like crap in the early part of the schedule i start to lose interest. Too many better things to do with those 2 hours than watch bad basketball, bad officiating, listen to bad commentators, in a sport now seemingly heavily slanted in favor of a few teams.

A lot of the attention I do still give is out of habit.

I'm right there with you. There was a time that I lived and died UK sports. The voices of Cawood, Tom Hammond, and Larry Conley was the soundtrack to my childhood. Now the game is so detached from the lives of normal fans I simply have a hard time ginning up interest in it. :(

I get It. I left KY 40 years ago, but it still matters. A lot. I blame the shoe and apparel companies. Corporate America. Hypothetically let’s say Nike wanted Zion to go to Duke instead of UK. Why? Duke has a lot more fringe fans in the NE with the money to spend 4, 5, 600 dollars on a pair of sneakers because, well you know Zion is dope. Until his Nike sneaker blew up. Oops. Someone in Bangladesh forget to put enough glue on. Today he was on Instagram sporting Addias gear. He’s not stupid, he’s going to play them against each other for a gigantic deal.

I just wonder if Wade gets fired if LSU will see a mass exit. If so I wonder if any of those guys could help us and would consider KY. Or if Cal would even mess with anyone from LSU after this debacle.

Even if LSU does continue to play it will be in turmoil and could affect their play. So they will probably be put into Dooks region as a good seed since they are on the eve of destruction. Seems like the perfect team to give Dook. If LSU wins it won't count and more than likely they will not play with the same gusto they have. I'm not sure how teams have done in the past that lost their coaches right before the tourney, but if there have been similar cases I can't imagine well.

Have to give it up to the LSU AD for stepping up. However I’m sure he’s got a great job and wasn’t going to risk it by backing Wade.

Act being the key word here. He knows it goes on because he has done it in some form or fashion for 30 years.

I seem the coaches show with him, Jim boeheim and co coler man. He said the g league paying 125k will only effect a small portion that are not the elite guys and that colleges need to do more stuff(not compensation) but allow them to have more meals and transportation to games for family. I agree with all that but he knows he pays people thru shady means.

Good for them although history suggest that's the worst move they could do.
I agree with you from the perspective of preservation, however its nice to see some semblance of integrity. I'll have to withhold complete judgement until I see what they do with Smart and Wade. If they just brush it off and say nothing to see here or play Smart anyway then they aren't much better than any of the other's that got caught.

Wade is probably the type that thinks he’s a victim for unluckily getting taped by the FBI. I think it’s fantastic, a cheater thinking nobody can prove anything and then the most unlikely scenario to happen did happen.

The gut sickness Wade felt when he first heard the FBI recorded him must have been unbelievable. I don’t feel sorry at all for people like Wade, he’s a thief that cuts corners to get ahead.

In that "interview" yesterday when he had just found out about the story and was being questioned, it looked like he was on the verge of loading his pants [poop] right there on the spot. [laughing]

Such a dumb statement. It would still be vacated bc they wouldn’t be eligible for the ncaat without their body of work to this point
Would it be vacated? I don't know. I'm just saying regardless of what happened throughout the season, which I agree would be vacated, they would no longer have the coach or player implicated with the wrong doing. This, I think would be new territory for the NCAA. Would they deserve the #1 seed in the SEC? No. Should they even deserve to be in any tournament? No. Remember this is the NCAA we are talking about. All I'm saying is this would be their only chance to get anything out of this season.

It’s actually quite easy. Whether the player plays or not there is a tape with LSU coach offering to pay a recruit. I mean wade won’t be there next year and they will get hammered. The player will be ineligible. This really isn’t new territory. This isn’t a guy who had contact with an agent or a team found out the player had accepted money unknowingly, team finds out and suspends him, this is corruption by the entirety of the program. Case closed

Media hopping all over this story yet they pretty much ignore KU and any other school not in the SEC (NC State, Arizona, Duke, UNC).

Anyone else find it interesting that although they have Self in text doing the exact same thing as Wade, the media waits for the Wade thing to hit and suddenly it’s a travesty and he should be fired or resign? Deflection from their favorites is how I see this one.

Poor LSU - their coach broke the rules, got caught (and will pay as he and they should), but they will take the media brunt of it all as the goat simply to deflect the attention from the media favorites Self, K, Roy and Miller (although one could argue that Miller would be the lowest of those coaches in the media favorite totem pole).

The media is untrustworthy, which is ironic because their task is to find the truth. They are agenda driven, if they don’t like the truth they won’t report it but if it fits their agenda they overexpose it.

You aren't a real fan then.
If you continued to praise the coaching staff, then that may be different....
