They don't want to be there.
The real National Championship is the ACC Tournament. We all know if it is not the ACC is it really basketball.

Virginia can never figure out if it wants to be UNC and Duke or Yale and Harvard.
UVA values providing a subsidized education at an Ivy League Level.
Doesn't mean they don't care about basketball.
Just don't think Tony Bennett will ever win a NC. His style works in the ACC because it limits the possessions. North Carolina and Duke want to speed the game up.
Maryland has had this problem in the B1G.
Similar to Syracuse but the zone is going away because more teams put numerous shooters on the court.
