Is there anything that could be said in the debates tonight which could conceivably change you opinion on who you'll be voting for?

Unfortunately, I'll be traveling tonight and will therefore miss the festivities.

But since I'm so profoundly opposed to both candidates, I'd characterize myself as one who could be influenced by what I heard. But as with everything else in politics, what the candidates actually say tonight will be overwhelmed by the post-game analysis from the two camps (and their advocates). That said, I wouldn't expect to hear much new from either side, and would therefore be stuck looking for screw-ups (which I frankly don't expect to happen).

Not that anyone asked for my opinion, but I myself think Trump has a fair amount more to gain (and little more to lose) than Hillary. For that reason, while there will surely be a couple zingers going either direction, I expect tonight to be a comparatively low-key affair......with Trump surprising (or disappointing) his core constituents by coming off far more reserved (and hence, "presidential") than he's been thus far on the stump.

Since the guy I'll be voting for won't be in them ... no.

I don't think there's anything that's going to be said tonight that's going to change anybody's mind though.

If you watch Fox, The Donald will be the winner.
Any other network, And Hillary's experience as a debater combined with her hands on experience in the political arena just exemplifies why the nation finds her to be the most qualified candidate for president in history.

Myself, I will watch Fox and hope the others don't attempt to confuse me with their facts.

[laughing] Did you get hacked?

I normally don't read very much of what you post, but I'll admit, this one caught my eye. [laughing]

Not really, I guess I made my mind up on this one more than 20 years ago. Would prefer two different candidates, but it is what it is. One vote for Trump. That one hurt.

I think both camps will try and limit the damage. I said it months ago that Hilliary will try and stay away from Trump because of the 8" in heigth difference, I already saw that they lowered her podium to make her look taller.

They've done that for ages. Dukakis was 5'8" and Bush was over 6'. They had him standing on a box in the debates. They did some stuff with McCain when he was running against Obama too - had them sitting in the town hall debate for sure. I'm not sure about the others.

A much bigger difference between 5'4" and 6'2 than the 4" of Dukakis. Had Baucman stand on a foot stool.

I had to google the heights, but Bush Sr was 6'2", Dukakis was 5'8". That's a 6" difference in height between 2 men. I think most people are used to the idea that women are generally shorter than men. In my mind, that makes the physical presence less of an issue. Also, I understand (googled) that she is 5'6", so the difference isn't as stark. Add to the discussion that she is seen relatively frequently with her husband, a 6'4" man, and the sitting president, a 6'1" man, and people are used to the idea of her relative height.

Debates won't matter to me a lick. If there wasn't the chance for it to turn into a complete **** show, I'd start Season 5 of Game of Thrones with my wife.

You might not think it matters but the perception is the bigger person is more dominant. I doubt if she is 5'6'. I've seen numerous references to her being 5'4'. There will not be a long embrace to highlight that difference. You are educated and can negate the height difference. Many will look at it as H being weaker and T being dominant.

My wife and i will be streaming Season 5, Episode 9 of Game of Thrones tonight instead of the debate (if Trump's head doesn't spin around and vomit, he'll say he won; if Clinton doesn't pass out, she'll say she won). Meanwhile, we'll be making progress on GoT.

It's been fun getting my wife up to speed. After wrapping up Season 4 this weekend I dropped R + L = J on her.

Do you actually believe that it isn't? Then, why is Hiliary's podium shorter than Trump"s? it's to make her look taller. Certainly, you've seen the difference?
It's for the primal mouthbreathers who think height equates to power. Yes, there are enough of them around us to make HC stand on a box.

There is nothing Trump can possibly do to make me vote for him. The question is whether I can find the energy to vote for HC

Insulting people who might think different than you. No one who has expressed support for Trump has sounded as bad as Obama phone or Obama cash people. Supporters of H have been interviewed and were told that H is bringing Sharia law to the US and did they support it? Well, I guess so. If she thinks it's important then we are for it. That's the women sho support H. Please, when you insult people make sure you take into account the stupid people who vote straight dem. Have you heard the sports metaphor about a team getting off the bus and that they put their biggest guys off first? It is real and H supporters know it. I would do the same thing if my candidate was 8 inches shorter. Hell, I put horizontal lines behind them that go up behind the taller candidate to make him look shorter.[laughing]

This is a simple concept. People who think height equates to power in a presidential race do need to be insulted.

I've seen every episode; like you, helping my wife to get up to speed, and noticong little details i missed the first go-around. Favorite episode, by far, was the Battle of the Bastards.

Napoleon was a great leader

This is a debate not a military combat exercise. Are you that naive to think that if it weren't important, why would Clintons team insist on a podium that is shorter than Trumps to make her look taller.

People who think that it isn't important should tell Clinton's team to not fall for it and make her podium the same height as Trumps so she will look shorter. If it weren't th perception then why do it?

I believe it matters, perception is very important. Her height or lack of it don't matter to me, it's how deep her corruption goes that counts

Patton was better and 6'2" tall or taller. Swartzkof was 6'3". Of course, neither was a dictator which seems to help short people. Hitler wasn't tall either. Omar Bradley was tall as was Eisenhower. Television is different animal.

She is absolutely corrupt and has been all along as has her husband. As is Jessie Jackson and Sharpton. Says a lot about the democratic party.

You really need to focus better and read my original post....

"It's for the primal mouthbreathers who think height equates to power. Yes, there are enough of them around us to make HC stand on a box."

There really lots of voters who are swayed by very superficial things....
