It's been clear since he committed that SKJ is a kid who's wired differently and from a different family. He didn't come here expecting to be one and done, and I'm sure he sees in practice that he's not ready yet.

I mean, you think he's good and Cal isn't playing him? Why? Because Cal loves Humphries? Because he won't play freshmen?
You think Humphries is better than SKJ?

This OAD thing has ruined folks who don't or can't remember how it normally works with most freshman.
My problem isn't that he's not performing at a OAD rate, my problem is that he's better than Humphries and he's sitting the pine while Humphries gives us nothing and gets minutes.

This is the problem with so many UK fans now. If every freshman doesn't come right in and play like a lottery pick then they must be *** or transfer. How do you know Cal doesn't want him to do things to get better, because he clearly needs to. The games he's gotten in, he looks lost. I bet you wished Josh Harrelson should have transfered after his Junior year...Cal was just ruining him not giving him a chance. Oh wait...he got a lot better because he had to. I'd think if you wanted to get a lot better this would be the place to do it...after all its part of the reason kids come here.
Again, him not playing like a lottery pick isn't the issue here. The issue is he's not playing at all. He's not even getting a shot. I'm not sure why thats so hard to understand.

Kenny had exactly 0 DNP coach's decision in his career played every game as a freshman even though he was behind NBA studs Sam Bowie and Mel Turpin. SKJ is getting DNP's left and right, behind Humphries. Toniget in a blowout he came in after a walkon and played 22 seconds. He's clearly never gonna get a chance and needs to transfer before he is ruined.
Get your facts straight. Kenny backed up Derrick Hord his freshman year and started along side Bowie and Turpin his soph year . Jeez .

I think he fills the role he's asked to play better than SKJ does. We need a big man to hold position inside, rebound, and not give up easy baskets on the block.

Humphries isn't amazing at those things, but apparently he's more physically ready to do them.

SKJ is pretty clearly more talented, and I love the potential he brings on both ends with his length and mobility. But I'm also positive that Cal has seen those things from him too, and if he's playing Humphries instead, it must mean that SKJ is either too inconsistent, not physically ready, or is dealing with an injury/illness we aren't aware of.

Folks love to whine that Cal plays his Burger Boys over "better" players because he's obsessed with getting them to the league at the expense of the team, but now want to whine that one of those Burger Boys isn't playing and that it is somehow unjust or incorrect.

Or maybe he plays the best guys.

Based on what do you say that? I agree that SKJ is more athletic, but he has not performed better yet that I have seen. Granted he didn't much play last night, but he did against other teams and didn't really do anything to distinguish himself. I believe he will make strides, but right now he hasn't IMO.

How would you know if he's better than Hump since he hasn't played and you don't go to practices? Answer? You don't. You just want to ***** about something. When Cal thinks he can help he'll get minutes.
