Will Gio start on Senior Day?

5-13 for 83 yards and a pick

Those were McSorley’s #s last week vs Michigan
Misread the crawl but not better. O yards in first half. He has nothing to gain playing next week. Gio can match those numbers easily.

Maybe Gio gets the first series at QB next week. Then Art finishes the rest of the game.

A plus will be that we get to see his mom one last time. A very beautiful woman.

Ash won’t start him because he’s an ashhole who doesn’t deserve to coach a little league team. He’s the worst coach ever in all of college football history. I also truly believe he made some kind of deal with Art.. there’s no other explanation. Meanwhile.. Gio, team captain, leading receiver today and guy who lead us to 3 big 10 victories last season.. sits on the bench watch the worst QB in football play the full game. It’s pathetic.

I’m sorry. I don’t see the point in starting Gio at this point. Despite the lack of numbers today, I felt Sitkowski is progressing and I don’t see the point of interrupting that at this point. Give Gio a series or so, fine. But I wouldn’t excessively shift the QB playing time.

It’s too little too late, and I agree that there isn’t much of a point now.. Ash and McNulty blew the season by not starting Gio and maybe redshirting Art, but I have to strongly disagree that Art is progressing in any way shape or form. He just doesn’t have natural ability.. the stuff that cannot be taught or learned by taking more snaps. Sure, he can throw hard, but with no accuracy. Look at his interceptions. He doesn’t know how to scramble instinctively, he can’t run. What else is there? I’m sure that everyone would love to see a big 10 win, so ya, for that reason, start Gio, but other than that, it’s too late.

There is no argument to play Gio extended minutes vs PSU

Art will be the guy next year (unless a grad transfer comes in).

Thus, he needs all the game experience and tape to watch that he can get.

IMO, it is like playing Hilliman vs Pacheco. Makes no sense at this point.

If the point is to try to win the game, Gio should start, like he should have all year. If it is to develop players for the future then Art and some Chatman. Gio's qb rating last year was 95 and he did not get to play against EMU and Morgan State, and would be one more year experienced. Art is at 78.2 this year, he has potential but is clearly, CLEARLY not ready this year.

If I was Art, the classy guy he is as we’ve seen in all his interviews, I would tell Ash that I wasn’t starting the game and he has to play Gio at least the first series. They are friends and he is a good team mate like that i feel like.

Gio shouldve been the starter this season instead of an untested Freshman who lost his starting spot in HS. If Sit wouldve came in because of Gio's ineffectiveness, so be it. But for him to continue to play at his current level NO MATTER WHAT is assinine.

While on the subject, if J Lewis will never play QB for Rutgers, then why does he have a scholarship? Moving him to TE is a waste, esp if he didnt get a legit chance to prove himself at QB. I have a feeling that he may become a better QB if he leaves for elsewhere.

The same could be said for Pacheco but hes now starting to play in these later games. So that could keep him to stay next year.

How is he progressing?

He is not throwing as many interceptions and when he does it’s not a complete misread of the defense or total brain fart. His poise and accuracy is improved, unfortunately he doesn’t have receivers that get open and when he hits them in the hands they don’t help him out for the most part. When is the last time RU came down with a 50/50 ball?

When RU signed Gio as a recruit almost none of us thought he was starting QB material.

Now some want him to play the whole game at home on Senior Day against PSU?

Goes to show why RU fans don’t determine the two deep on the team.

Gee... I dont know... Maybe its because he won some football games in his career and that may have helped Rutgers a hell of a lot more than an untested freshman QB thrown to the wolves, who BTW also lost his starting spot in HS.

Ash will not play Gio unless Art is hurt.

If Gio plays well, then people will question Ash's coaching decision for not playing in games that Art and Rutgers are struggling.
