I believe it is done. The last county is in and they just finalized the details with a booster from Cherry county. Should be glorious.

I was at our county meeting and the vote was unanimous for full funding with the option to go to 110%. We're in good shape here.

SF is not only bringing back the County Scholarship program, but pushing ahead with the sister city scholarship program. Right now, for example, Omaha is a sister city with Los Angeles, so that one kid a year out of LA will get a full ride scholarship paid for by the taxpayers of Omaha. Lincoln is similarly hooked up with Dallas/Fort Worth, etc.

There’s a boy down in frontier county that can chuck a small square bale of hay clean over the REA powerline. Scott was down to see him last weekend.

That kid is a beast! Read an article on him the other day in the McCook Gazette and it had a picture of a pile of the square bales behind him. He threw all 7 bales over the wires.

Apparently the first bale was still in the air when he threw the 4th bale... Eek

Here's the list of charter counties that really got things going. Here's hoping they set the example so that all counties regularly put out talent.

Hooker
Cuming
Cherry
Hitchcock
Johnson
Pierce
Polk
Box Butte

Ben Eisenhart was the last one to get the full-ride scholarship in Hitchcock County before Callahan took over and the C.S. program was closed down here locally. So glad they brought it back! Time to pump more talent through Lincoln!

I received my letter as a graduate of a school in Red Willow County asking if I wish to renew my support for the county scholarship program now that Frost is bringing it back. If it gets us another Jeff Kinney I am OK with spending the money. The hardest part is getting some of those kids from the coasts to move here and work on the farms to qualify for the scholarships but in the end it is worth it all.

As a Stockville native, I am going to need to see a link to this

You can have all the county scholarships you want. You can give football recruited athletes track scholarships. It does not matter. All football players receiving scholarships are counted in the 85 max.
Are you sure about that? I would suggest spending some time digging deep into the NCAA rule book. I am still amazed that no other program is taking advantage of this rule.

I have heard about this kid. This kid is like Paul Bunyon. It is like he is some tall tale urban legend where every story is more amazing than the previous. I can't wait till he gets on campus.

I heard on good authority that Cherry County may just kybosh the whole thing because they're being asked to fund 2 scholarships because they're bigger.

Well how freaking selfish can you get? A program with a proven track record of outstanding results, and they're busy pinching pennies. Need some new leadership out that way if they're not going to pull their weight.
