I am not even joking. Bring back the Thrill in our baseball program. He'll kill it in recruiting. He'll kill it in developing hitters. He'll demand respect from everyone. He knows enough good pitching coaches to get a great one along with staff. He has tons of ties with MLB teams. He's just awesome period and one of my all-time favorite baseball players. Make it happen Cohen.

Yeah. Let’s hire a guy who’s never coached or recruited a day in his life for one if the biggest jobs in college baseball. What could possibly go wrong?

What makes this seem like a good idea? To my knowledge, Clark has zero coaching experience. If we did this, we also might as well just send Rafe a card saying “17 you.”

Clark is also involved in the Giants front office so it’s doubtful he would leave that anyway.

While we’re at it lets go ahead and give Fred smoot and Anthony Dixon jobs on the football staff

Clark could go on a 4 month coke binder in Nicaragua and still trot out a team that'd kick our team's *** 9 outta 10 games. In the first season.

It’s always amusing when people start throwing out the names of former players for coaching gigs, as if being a good player has anything to do with a being a good coach.

Now if you had suggested Thrill or even Raffy for hitting coach starting tomorrow I would immediately say “thumbs up.”

Just replace the words "Penny Hardaway" and "Memphis" with "Will Clark" and "MSU" and you'll instantly realize how stupid an idea that is. At least Penny has been coaching HS basketball.

In all seriousness, hasn’t he been a hitting coach for a minute?

17 it. I’m on board. Palmero as hitting coach. Brantley as pitching coach. Let’s go all in on those guys

I was joking about the coaching hire. But really wasn’t he a hitting coach with the giants or am i a little off tonight?

Oh boy did I laugh hard at this one, and it's also very true. Also remember Cohen played on the teams directly following Clark (maybe one year in between departure and arrival). I'm not saying Cohen wouldn't hire Clark if he really thought for whatever odd reason he should, but you have to think in his years at State he probably got sick and tired of hearing about him.

Actually, Bruce Castoria suggested Maloney a while ago in another thread. Ironic, in that Maloney was our 1st baseman until he got injured and Will Clark, "filled in", to never lose the job. Why Maloney has been referred to as our own, "Wally Pipp"
