Based on the current UKBB program...dude, get the HELL out of Lexington as soon as you can.

I hate to say that but Coach NBA DRAFT PICKS isn't going to play you! GET...GO...BE GONE!

Remember a guy named Joe B. benching 4/5 starters at once in an ncaa tourney game.
[/QUOTE
Joe had deeper bench. He had frsshman hs AAs, Parade AAs sitting bench play behind Sr and Jr AAs
UNC had s blue and white squad that would sub in and out. Golden era of college hoops.

Florida State was in the Metro at the time and I don't even think they were a ranked team, however, they shot the ball very well the entire game. I remember LaVon Williams (I think) with a big time put back that kind of sparked things in the second half.

Yep, I believe that's correct.

It truly was unbelievably gutsy for Joe B to make that move, as he had to know he'd be crucified by the fan base if it hadn't worked. Not a snowball's chance in hell Cal would ever try something that ballsy.

Right, there is no way Cal would do that, or probably any other coach these days. I recall thinking that we were jinxed by playing in Knoxville as FSU made some really tough shots the first half. Their best player was David Thompson (not to be confused with the NC State player) and he was very good. I can't imagine the media reaction had we lost that game.

I hope he does. I hope he goes and has success under a coach who will value the talent he can bring to a team.

You can try to tell me he can’t hit shots and he doesn’t play D, but who on this team does?
Right, how can it get any worse by playing him? Makes no sense whatsoever.

How is he “not ready” any more than the rest of them? Yet the coach allows the others to play through mistakes, poor shot selection and selfishness. Why is Allen not given that same consideration? I don’t believe that he’s under any illusion that he was headed to the league after this season.

A kid that averaged 42 points a game but according to Cal can't play here. This is the same coach that left 2 or 3 scolarships open a couple of years ago so his son who couldn't make the UK girls team could get some playing time. Don't make a lot of sence to me. Would love to see him transfer to Western. I bet Stansbury would let him play, and Stansbury doesn't hold scolarships open just so his son can get a little playing time.

He’s a better player than that (I would assume but have no way of knowing), but it’s tough to get PT and the trust of the coaching staff when you go in a game and screw up that much in that little time.

It‘s like you tell a teenager that just got their license that they have to drive your car for a while and if they don’t get in an accident that’s their fault or don’t get a ticket you’ll get them a car for Christmas. But then first week or two they get ticketed for speeding, running a red light, and to top it off they back into a parked car. You sure as hell aren’t getting them a car much less letting them drive your own for a while.

My best guess is no, but I wouldn't blame him. Dante is not only a Kentucky kid but I believe a huge Kentucky Basketball fan...like childhood dream fan.

I don't see it happening. Hopefully he talks to guys like Dom and Willis so he can get their perspective on what it takes to break through to Cal.

I don’t think D Miller was waiting behind a team that was 1-5 nor waiting behind guys who were sucking *** . Terrible analogy.
Ramon Harris was pretty bad during Miller’s freshman season. Ramon’s 08-09 resume below:

Kevin Galloway and Michael Porter were the only two players in the rotation with fewer points per 40 minutes than Harris.

And of the regular rotation players, the only non guard he outrebounded per 40 was Darius Miller.

Additionally, he was the second worst FT shooter on the team and second worst three point shooter of all players to attempt at least one three per 40 minutes.

Did lead the team in 2p% though, but he averaged the second fewest 2 point FGA per 40 minutes for the rotation players.

He was a low turnover player in terms of per game and per 40 numbers because he barely did anything with the ball on offense (only player with a lower usage percentage was Porter), but he did have a turnover rate of 28%, 4th worst in the rotation, so he was rather turnover prone when he did attempt to do something. To put that in context to the current season, he would have the 8th best/4th worst turnover % on the team, only better than Askew, Allen, and Ware and demonstrably worse than 7th place Jackson at 21.2%.

I would like to see what Allen can do, but being honest - he ain’t making a difference with this team. He’s been lost in the few minutes he has played. I see this for what it is - just another stick to grab onto for the Cal haters. But again, I’d like to see him at least get a few runs.

He’ll probably transfer to Louisville and average 17 a game while shooting 44% from 3.

Dante is just not ready. part of it is the competition he faced in high school, part of it is the injuries set him back. he will take some time, but by his JR. or SR. year I think he can become a solid rotation player. But yes, if he went somewhere else lesser and played 35 minutes a game, sure he would score a lot of points, that is obvious, but it doesn't mean he would make UK better if he did it here. patience is a virtue, stick with it and keep fighting, your time will come. I hated missing out on Hollingsworth, but the fact is, he scoring at WKU as a freshman was from getting 35 minutes per game at a lesser talented team. Now before anyone says it, yes WKU is better than UK right now, today.

Does anyone wonder if Allen would have been recruited by Cal if he was from another state. His stats were crazy and you know he can play and who's really to say he is not ready. It looks to me like several of them are not ready, he knows the system or what Cal wants more than any current play he just needs a chance to play through his mistakes like certain other players.

You need to go to a place where you can play. Loyalty is fun to talk about and all, but the bottom line is you should do what is best for yourself. Why go to Kentucky when Coach Cal is only going to play 5 star athletes even if they have no basketball skills, if you could go to Western Kentucky and play 20 minutes a game , or go to Southern Illinois, or Evansville and play 35 minutes a game that is what you should do. Ja Morant even went to Murray State and did ok for himself. To me sitting on the bench, especially on a terrible team would be any fun, it wouldn't even be fun even if it were on a good team. I would want to go where I could play, after all isn't that why you learn to play the game, is to get out on the court and play ?

At this rate absolutely. Sadly, Calipari has built a culture that if you aren’t in the rotation immediately (sometimes erroneously it would seem) you need to go elsewhere and he encourages it. Pursue your dreams!

Cal doesn’t have an offense that is good for shooters unless you have the quickness of DeAaron Fox or a point guard with that same quickness and IQ. Our offense is easy to guard because there is very little movement and we are predictable. Teams know what we are going to do. Unless Cal changes it will be the same old ****. We got dunked on by NC sat on two out of bounds plays. 2. We don’t even have two plays. Ours is struggle to throw the ball in to someone holding their arm out by the sideline and hope to beat the 5 second count. Just pitiful.

I hope he transfers to a rival and rains 3s on us and gives Cal the cold shoulder when Cal does his typical buddy buddy at the end of the game. Followed by a standing ovation by UK fans then booos Raining on Cal and his pretentious followers.

I disagree on this that he is not ready. He has said numerous times that he is healthy. Cal just does not give him a chance to play .One miss and he is out. Cal has is favorites and he is not going to change. You never see Boston getting pulled.
