turnover watch we are ahead 3 to 1 will we not win this we hope
Actually losing by 19 at the half losing turnovers 6-5 so I guess you can have very few turnovers and still play sloppy and get run over like a train in a huge loss 🤔 as konkol was saying Pritchard is a difference maker I agree but still we lose with him but we don’t get slaughtered our next game at #1 Houston could be a 70 point loss geez

Are we even trying on defense? I just turned it on
Konkol said pregame that we were going to miss Pritchard on defense today. He said Pritchard is our best defender at guard and we always put him on the other team’s best guard.

When the season is over he'll get rid of what he thinks he can't use, and then recruit other players. Then the riff raff can complain about who he didn't get rid of/who he brings in.

We won't be going to the NCAA next year. Thank goodness Konkol won't be so impatient as some on this board. Next year we will be .500 or slightly above. The next year is when we will have a decent team. At cause because of what Haith left us with. You can't go out and recruit a dynamite team in your first year at TU, when left with this much crap. Especially when TU has been down this long.

Foreign tour next year is worth +2-3 in the win column, and the mental health and early cohesiveness of the team.

They sure need one this summer or maybe even better the next summer when eyes will finally be on the big dance again. Can only go every 4 years but we are past due.

I think it is best next year. Get this team in a different mindset, so you can build on that the next year in the reynold's center practices. We will be more prepared year after next.

At least we got to see a demonstration of why we can use Pritchard at a minimum, as a backup point guard next year. We weren'tt even competitive in this game from, from start to finish. And this is a bottom four cellar dwellar in the league. That isn't what we have shown lately. We might lose by a decent amount, but we are competitive at least for short periods now. Not today.

Dalger plays with energy that other players need to learn to self generate.

Mostly? It’s 100% on Haith. Why do you feel sorry for the players? Most of these guys will be at a lower level next year.
Because they are incapable of adding 3 inches each to their height or magically developing quickness. They seem to be working their asses off with little chance of winning. That's why.

I think my limit has been reached.

Probably leaving around. 10 minute mark.
Left under 8. My parents came this time and my dad has yet to learn the laissez-faire attitude necessary to be a spectator this season. Was worried his pacemaker might tire.

That’s good to hear. I do feel that the fans will still show up for traditional opponents like Wichita, Houston, SMU, etc.

I went to the Thunder game last night and sat next to a young couple decked out in Houston Cougar gear. They had brought their 6 month old son to his first NBA game. Very nice family.

Betson is struggling big time on both ends.
Yeah, I have noted through the season how few times that Selebangue gets the
ball when AP is not in the game.....Both Betson and Griffin, particularly in the 1st
half, were guilty of coming down the court with the ball, and only looking for
their own shot...

I feel that is why he is playing the freshmen guards so much....He wants shooting
guards that will rebound and defend next season.....That would make either Betson
or Griffin (probably Betson) expendable....His ten points and poor handle come at
too high a price in overall team performance.....

Both those guys would have to sit a year if they transfer right? Unless they are grads ?

Both would be eligible to transfer as grads as I understand the rule....The Covid rule
(as I remember it) is you have six years (seasons) to play five....This is Betson's fourth
year of playing, so he has one left.....This is also Griffin's fourth year of playing, so he
also has one left....Does their progress toward a degree have any bearing on it??

Because of our limited size and depth, (and we saw it time after time last night) two
of our major problems are allowing offensive rebounds, and defending around the
basket....Konkol&Co. know these problems will have to be dealt with if next season
is going to be successful...Of our smallish guards, only A.P. is an active rebounder
and defender in the paint, and apparently, only the freshmen offer any in-house
solution(s)....

The question that Konkol&Co. will have to deal with is: How much can you afford
to play a good shooter that is a major part of the problems you are trying to solve?
Hmmm.....

One of those shooters can create their own shot, the other cannot. I think that is your answer.

Yes...Little question that Griffin is the one you keep, but I wonder if he will keep
being a starter? I'm sure that is yet to be determined, but he will be a weak spot
in the defense however much he plays...

His level of defensive intensity may determine his minutes next year. Same with some others. Frustrating to watch opponents with much more defensive intensity. Konkol may need to borrow a little bit of the Bill Self huddle abrasiveness if you know what I mean.

No you care about him scoring. Or you should.

If you shoot 50% on one shot per game you are not a good offensive player.
If you shoot 50% on 6 shots per game, and I know you're willing to continue serving in that role.... then you're more valuable than someone who shoots 30% on 12 shots and who I don't know would be willing to take fewer shots to make the team better.

You're asking me to tell you something I like about a team that is about to go down in history as the losingest team in multiple generations? Oof... this is the best I can do:

Chukwu can sprint like a gazelle for his size. Betson is a deadeye shooter when he's put into the right positions.

Chukwu could be someone who we could start to develop offensively similar to what was done with Idlet or Jerome Jordan. If he can improve his post game he might be very special.

Betson is basically JJ Reddick. He's a defensive liability, but when surrounded by the right team, he becomes very valuable from a floor spacing perspective. You have to run a set to get him open, but that shouldn't be very hard.

Thanks for your effort. It must have been hard for you. I can hear Duke fans laughing at you all the way from North Carolina saying Betson is basically J.J. Reddick. I do appreciate your Chukwu comments. Those were good.

Neither one of those guys can make the pass that's required to get it to Selebangue when the defensive focus is on him. A few of those passes AP makes may result in a TO, but the majority make it into those really good hands that Selebangue has. And to the point regarding shooting guards, if your going to put it up from deep like Konkol prefers, those guys must be effective rebounders or we will continue to suffer until we have guys that will put in the effort.
