You are correct that there’s no reason we can’t win the in B1G. But we don’t and we haven’t for better part of a decade now. You think it’s magically going to change? Damn near seems like it’s being done on purpose. Coaches and players have it made, check equipment in tomorrow, off for a couple months. No practicing for a bowl game, no having to do game planning, sit at home and watch all the other big ten teams play postseason.
Ok, you’re right. Better choice would be join Big East, out all our chips in to the basketball programs. Play FCS football, see if we can get past Villanova and Georgetown.
Perhaps it might have something to do with the B1G being a much tougher conference. So we should run away to a weaker conference like the Mountain West, is that what you are suggesting?
at least we’d make a bowl game. Winning is fun. Join WSU and OSU in the Pac 3. You suggest everyone shells out huge money just to get face beat in and pi$$ it away every week?

Think about this. PSU beat Iowa 31-0 and it was absolutely comical. In turn, both OSU and Michigan made PSU look like a HS team. Wanna take a guess on what either OSU or Michigan does to Iowa in the B1G championship game?

Everyone talks about how bad the B1G west division is. If it's that bad, then there's no reason why we haven't been able to win it. Next year gets tougher since the B1G is doing away with divisions, however I digress. There was absolutely ZERO reason why we couldn't have won the B1G west for the past 7 years if it's as bad as most of the posters on here claim.

You’re not wrong, but we could have ensured it with just paying for a few key positions. At least this least season. Zero talent and zero depth at QB is pretty glaring in the wake of asking for a $450M expansion, I can f*cking tell you that.
Problem is that our schedule, as of NOW, just got A LOT more competitive. If our program doesn’t make a multi-million dollar investment in elite talent, this message is gonna go from ‘meltdown’ (currently) to WORSE… which is Apathy. That’s when seats start clearing out. The choice is Now. Adapt, or don’t. Can tell you right now what the alternative is.
So what's it going to take for the failures to stop? No, running away to another conference isn't the answer. The answer is to keep fighting and getting better and start winning the games we are supposed to win.
Anymore there are very many games we are supposed to win. 2-3 a year. So I suppose winning 5 is a giant accomplishment.
