Why would Frost go to Florida

Why would SF go to Florida knowing he was their second choice? And why aren't we hearing rumors of Moos talking to other coaches about Nebraska?

Moos may be talking. Getting a feel for who would entertain a proposal before sending one to an agent for negotiations.

Certainly wouldn't want the litany of coaches saying no outright to hit the media. That might not look too graceful.

I'm sure he is talking to the agents of a handful of coaches who may or may not be interested in the position.

We NEED Chip to sign with the Gators. Thankfully, I think he's going to, but if Chip signs with UCLA I'm officially going to be nervous.

Florida has the top athletics program in the country. It sits in the heart of the best recruiting grounds in the land. The SEC is a superior football conference.

If he's all about winning at the highest level, Florida will be his choice.

But my guess is that he's about loyalty, Dr. Tom, memories and all that stuff that ultimately brings him back to UNL.

Because it's a better job and he would have access to way more talent.

I'm gonna be honest I left out access to ocean fishing...I love me some open water angling! Landed a 35lb bull Mahi Mahi couple years back took me a half hour to bring in. So much win!

I went deep sea fishing for the first time when we were in Clearwater about 6 weeks ago. I would do that every day!

And the B1G isn’t? Last I checked, B1G & Sec are tied for # of schools in the top 10. SEC dominance is in the past. Still a dam good conference but not the elite conference it was 7 or so years ago.

Kind of ironic that both conferences’ top coach left one conference and ended up in the other conference

The Big 10 teams haven't scored a single point in the last two CFP games. Hardly elite.

I caught mine some good distance off the coast of Oahu, I dream of selling virgin margaritas on the beach in kuwai and using the proceeds to buy lures to kayak out and fish for the fish used as bait for the Mahi Mahi, it tasted better than the Mahi Mahi!!!!

My guess would be that Florida wants to keep a coach or wants a different coach for his staff, which may be too big of a hurdle for Scott Frost.

Thousands of pheasants out here, butduring corn harvest I saw a couple hundred turkeys.

Turkeys everywhere the last couple of years compared to 20 years ago around here.

Plenty of Bob Whites around too.

All of the bird populations are thriving in SW Nebraska with all of the CRP and the counties not mowing the ditches until late July.

One could argue that many SEC defenses have the speed to slow down Frost's offense. Every team in the SEC has major talent (even Kentucky and Miss St pull in Top 25 recruiting classes).

Whereas the defenses in the Big Ten West aren't known for speed. Look at JD Spielman this year, even though we're bad he has looked dynamite against our competition - and he was only a 3-star. Imagine Frost being able to put 4 JD Spielman types out there at the same time.

Florida’s a top 5 job, yet 3 of their last 4 coaches bailed on it?? You’d think Spurrier or Meyer would have stayed till they retired, or that shark f*cker wouldn’t have lied about death threats to try to deflect all the heat off himself if was such a great place??

It’s not a better job. That’s bs. If you have any confidence in your ability and you are from/played for Nebraska, there is not a better job. Fact.

Except for the part where it is, and all you have is feelings.

I heard (yes, rumor) that his current contract forbids him leaving for another FL school.
Yeah, that would be unenforceable.

Say e.g. Frost resigns UCF to accept the position at U of Florida. UCF then sues Frost to forbid him from taking the Gator job? That isn't going to work. Americans have freedom to contract. Some employment contracts have non-competition clauses (usually sales jobs) but they are not favored in the courts and are often invalidated. If Frost wants to coach at Florida next year there is nothing UCF can do about it.

Agreed. If Scott goes to the gata's it would provide him the chance to move up, and stay in a state that has many kids that fit his scheme, all within a couple of hour drive for he answered his coaching team. Less time flying, more face time recruiting.

He would crush it at UF, I am savory to say but they are a dumpster fire. They have now run off three coaches. That has to be a consideration for him.

Turkeys play hell on pheasant nests. Where the turkeys have taken over in my neck of the woods, the pheasants have all but disappeared.
