Some decent points in there. I don't disagree with all of them. Has he made some mistakes in big games? Absolutely. Believe me, I'm as torn up as anyone about going 38-1 this year and losing the championship last year. But 1 championship in 6 years is a better ratio than any coach at Kentucky ever. Better than Pitino, Hall, and yes, Rupp. We've got plenty of time to get to more final 4's and he's got time to learn from his mistakes. If we're in the hunt like this every single year, that means we are an elite program and much luck is always needed to bring home a championship. But I truly believe more will follow.

Eh, Pitino was 1/6 if you want to be fair about it. I agree with your point though overall.

No matter how much talent a team has in college basketball it is still very difficult to win an NCAA Championship. A lot of things have to go right and fall into place. Remember, no matter how talented, these kids are still freshmen and K won't have them for multiple years. I just wonder who's going to transfer from the Duke program?

Got to give you credit, you are not a homer fan, you tell it the way you see it. Thats how I am

Love UK to my death. Was on the golf-course yesterday with a good friend of mine, big UNC fan, and went toe-to-toe arguing with him about UNC and UK. Won't go into it. Great friend of mine but it got heated. Would die for my Cats but at the same time I will call a spade a spade. Love this board but fans on here are far from "keeping it real" a lot of times.

My favorite thing to do when bored is to go to random team forums and see how many posters swear up and down that the media is shilling for a certain team, it's just not true.
So it's not true that some coaches get crucified for things that the media deems not good for the game, such as OAD, yet other coaches are genius whenever they do the same. Some coaches or their teams are punished excessively for infractions that they were not implicated in while other coaches has their wrong doings or infractions threw out the window. If you don't see that, your either blind or you have your head up your ***.

But every single top head coach is shady as hell.

And now that I think about it, there are coaches who have shills. Pitino and Forde, Krzyzewski and some Dukies besides Darth Bilas, Calipari and Wojnarowski.

K will continue to get a cake brackets and still lose the first weekend 4 of every 5 years with it. My only fear is the years the refs pitch in as much as the selection committee.

UK fans need to chill.

I heard this all before in 1992 with Duke after they won their first two titles.

Then I heard it with UNC in 1993 after Dean Smith won his second and had Stackhouse, Wallace, and McInnis coming in and everyone back.

Then I heard with Nolan Richardson in 1994 with the Hogs.

Then Pitino was unstoppable in 96.

Then with Roy Williams and then Cal.

And in college football it was Saban and now Meyer.

The list goes on and on.

Good thing they play the games on the floor and on the field or sports would be boring.

The thing is, UK last year was the "go on and mail the trophy" team last year and it didn't work out. You just have to tip off in November and see where the chips fall in March. If we see Duke in March it will be in the FF or title game so no need to worry about them in July.

UK has the same number of F4 appearances in the last 5 years as Duke has had in the last 15 years - 4.

Unfortunately, Duke won 3 championships in those 4 appearances compared to UK's 1 and they are only now beginning to really get on the OAD train.

That's just irksome as Hell if you're a UK fan. It's not a criticism of Cal either. It's also irksome that for at least 2 of those 3 championships, Duke had an easy path to the Championship. 2010 in particular was a gift.

There is no need to worry about other teams, namely Duke. Sure they will be loaded but there are a lot of other variables that goes into being a great team besides talent. How will they handle being the "it" team like UK has? How will the chemistry be? How will K handle all the egos and keep EVERYONE happy? You can bet your *** UK won't be void of talent. I guarantee you if Duke gets a dinner, Kentucky will get a damn plate lunch.
Duke and K are adjusting as we have. Coach K deals w/ a lot of the ego checks and teamwork w/ the Olympic teams. Can't wait til we play them this year. I hope Poythress is able to play and have a big game for that 1. Side note what class are you in Pulaski? I'm from Somerset too
