I haven't watched a replay, but for those of you that have, why was Dam Williams, cold off the bench, able to generate points simply bc Fitz's helmet came off? What was the difference?

Fitz isn't really going through his progressions very well. There are a lot of throws that end up in double coverage from Fitz because he's forcing it into his primary target.

He also tends to throw lasers at guys.

I agree, Dam gets rid of it better than Fitz. Fitz is still late on many throws

They played the same 4th quarter defense we used against them in 2014 and he threw three catchable balls. Fitz made some awful throws Saturday, to go along with some bad drops as well.

IIRC, wasn't Harris the QB who came in and had some success late against MSU? If so, that may be a good reason not to get carried away by this.

It is possible that Williams is a better passer, but neither are any good.

Fitz's biggest issue is not finding the open guy when he is open. He seems to know where his guy should be and when, but he doesn't go through his progressions and he throws into coverage.

Williams has it together better in the head, but just doesn't have the arm talent to be any good.

At this moment, it feels like DW has better instincts. Fitz needs reps to get better. I also haven't seen enough of Fitz against good competition to anoint him like most have. All did a fantastic crushing cans in garbage time last year and running through a terrible USC defense. Other than that, he's been meh.

Damian is a good QB.
For sec though, he is a little too short, slow, and not enough arm strength.
Put him in a lesser conference and he probably would do great.
