Lately I been watching the sic'em 365 show, and it seemed like there was some ncaa hate...
and I hear the sec wants to leave the ncaa...

as far as I know the ncaa was mad at Nebraska years ago for giving poor players college books
and something about frost and practicing during covid..

light stuff...

I do remember the ncaa going after cronic cheating programs that won national championships
like 0u in the 80's & cu, washington, ucla, fsu, miami..etc...basically the only people we lost to in the 80's
I remember some 0u player named the bozo who wore a anti-ncaa headband cause he got caught cheating.

but my question is why do southern teams hate the ncaa?
does the sec hate them cause they make cash payoffs? (now legal under nil)
does baylor hate them because the ncaa is anti- rape?

really really bad stuff......

is there specific examples on why I should hate the ncaa?
beside moving their offices away from kc, making stupid no helmet laws, and baby sitting qb's and return men?

I think what you wrote pretty much sums it up. How much of what you wrote are proven facts and not hearsay?

There is assumption, with very little TRUE evidence, of the cheating that goes on, especially in the SEC. I don't doubt it occurs, talked a bama guy and he assures me it does and claims to know how, but claims are not factual evidence.

I guess it comes down to people thinking the NCAA doesn't have the nads to take care of things they should but ventures into areas they shouldn't. Pretty soon it will be the wild wild west with no rules, that will be fun.

all them teams I wrote about in the 80's went on ncaa probation, I guess I can dig up the news reports..
I'm pretty sure baylor had some rape cases, and I don't think the sec, won so much cause teams like ohio state or usc were paying more...but I did hear the pac or big say no ncaa...just comes from southern team specifically the sec, with the 32 team disney dreams...I just did'nt know if there was any substance against the ncaa or if it was just shallow, we want to cheat stuff. like defund the police libs

Because of crap like ham sandwich policing.
thats it? the ham sandwich affair? I think the ncaa had to do some legit cleaning in the swc...but I was talking more about the sec...I did'nt knowif there was any clear cut, ncaa was totally in the wrong cases? that were more then a ham sandwich deal..

I like even playing fields, and order.....I don't trust moving goal posts of the sec.

Why would the SEC hate the NCAA?

They have allowed them to cheat while looking the other way for forever.

If the NCAA was even handed in their decisions and made rulings that made sense it would be better. They lower the boom on smaller programs and allows major infractions slide to the larger programs. They take entirely too long to publicize their results and rarely do they get it right. They are a crooked organization led by crooked universities... Rules and regs do not matter to them.

I heard some say smu got the death penalty and texas did'nt because texas had more money..not sure if true

the ncaa job probably isn't easy, if johnny jo bob, gives pookie ray ray 100 grand under the table to play at auburn...it's hard to track that...but with nil I guess it's in the open now, and players will have to become sub contractors.

The NCAA is a voluntary organization. Rules are in place only if its members agree to them. It has over 1,000 members, so interestingly enough the power lies with the "have nots" more than the "haves" when it comes to rules about scholarships, benefits, etc. and competitiveness, whatever that means.

The NCAA is not a law enforcement agency, so it has almost no power to investigate rule breaking. This means violations are largely left to self reporting by its members. Which obviously leads to a major conflict of interest. The one time they actually tried to drop the hammer (SMU's death penalty) the NCAA suffered a major public relations disaster. So if videos of Alabama players flashing new Camaros and wads of cash appear on YouTube, it's not like the NCAA can send a team of investigators down to Tuscaloosa with search warrants.

Only when actual laws are broken can law enforcement get involved, but that would be true whether the NCAA existed or not.

Which leads us to the threats of the SEC breaking away from the NCAA. It is all about telling associates from Mount Holyoke College and Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute to suck an egg so they can have unlimited scholarships and practice time. That's it. Moving closer and closer to an NFL minor league and away from the long-dead façade of college students only doing it for the love of the game.
