Loss of talent, lack of player development, lack of disciplined coaching. Fault always falls at the coach either way

As it turns out, having a team full of NFL talent can make anyone look competent.

I remember my TN buddy being shocked when we hired him. Of course last year we had good talent but with the loss of those guys and all the suspensions we now have TN talent. Oh well...

Mccorvey already did... joe could be in trouble**

McCorvey and his Croom Coast Offense, or Gulf Coast Offense, or whatever we used to call it, was really bad. But even then, I don't remember us having two delays of game in one possession. I just mostly remember us punting a lot. A whole lot.

It's the Delay, TFL, Sack, Delay, Shank Offense. Jomo should copyright it.

His offense is divided up into concepts. If you haven’t seen his video from Fordham explaining it, you should watch it on YouTube. This concept was developed just for auburn. We already showed the call time out after a end of quarter period concept this year, because of that, the only way to pull it off was to install the pre-opening-drive delay of game penalty concept for tonight. Pulled it off to perfection if I say so myself. Genius

The best time to commit a penalty is before the game clock starts. It's like a bonus penalty.

Quality post. I laughed. And almost cried.

It’s really not the offense that’s terrible. Once GS stepped in it was fine. It looks a hell of a lot better when we have a QB that can actually make some throws. I’ll give Moorhead some credit on that. Seems like night and day compared to last year.

The defense is Swiss Cheese, and quite possibly then worst MSU defense it a good while. Even worse than 2016. They are very soft.

The team defense is off the charts bad. It’s really amazing how a team can go from the number 1 defense to the worst in just one season. Just ugly and that just can’t happen.

What killed us the most overall is the lack of focus, effort and discipline and that’s on coaching for sure. He’s been giving plenty of time to fix that problem and it has never been fixed. Seems like the players run the show and that’s never a good thing. If this doesn’t change real damn quick, he should be gone. So yeah this was a massive fail. Unfortunately, I think he gets a third year.

Nope. Instead of the 4-2-5, we would run the 2-1-8. We need a simple base defense with 7 guys within 4 yards of the Los. Then play man to man and dare a corner back to get caught looking in the backfield.

Our pass defense is nonexistent. The whole defense is a mess, but there is nothing offered to counter a passing game. I guess Cohen should be told to address it tomorrow.....
