I for one love his weird, sometimes cranky ways. I don't think our local media would have a clue how to deal with him, it seems they have figured it out in Pullman. Dude is funny while being cranky therewe've been told his pirate attitude will not wear well on the seas of the Nebraska prairie.
Sounds a lot like the argument people tried use to convince themselves Mike Riley was going to win at Nebraska. Don't get me wrong, I like Leach, but he's never really won anything in 18 years as a HC. He'd be good at certain schools. Not sure Nebraska would be one of them. Just my opinion. If he can win at TexasTech and Washington State then he surely can win at Nebraska especially in the Big Ten West. He has proven that he can recruit to isolated places and develops less heralded players. Plus the press conferences would be fun.
This is it for me as well. I think he would certainly make for some interesting and entertaining games. That offense, when clicking can knock off teams from time to time, but it's just not an offense that is built for a championship run. Even when you look at Oregon, it took a much heavier dose of running and a Heisman caliber QB to pose a serious threat. How many conference or national titles have been won with an air raid offense?
Florida back in 1996 with the “fun and gun” offense comes to mind. How many conference or national titles have been won with an air raid offense?

Very much so. Little bit more run oriented than the “Gah-tuhs” but still slung it around. And Bowden's teams were pass heavy too

So.... he is Barney Cottons doppelganger? He does not do well "kissing the babies" and booster functions either.... my brother is a Texas Tech alumni and booster and said he would show up in cargo shorts and a old t-shirt at big events and come up to the podium and say "thanks for the money" and walk out.... he would not do well in Lincoln in his opinion.
everyone is tip-toeing around the issue - he just does not run the ball enough. pure and simple
So we need to try to be just like Wisonsin and Iowa to beat them? Does that mean you aren’t a fan of Nebraska hiring Frost?Correct were in the B1G not the Big12 any more or Riley's Pac 12 conference..
One thing is for sure we need to get back to being physical like we once were because this is what this conference is because of the colder weather...

Their offense isn’t very physical and this year I believe they have thrown more than they have run, they threw 30 times in the first half alone against SMU. I love his approach to offense, but I do think some fans could be in for a shock (if we get him). Not saying that..Frost does run more than he throws, I love his style of offense..
I gureentee you Frost will bring a Physical style of play.

What? Leach is 121-79, while Riley was 93-80. And Leach turned around both program he’s been the HC at. Leach tuned 4 winprogram into 10 win programs, not vise versa. He has roughly the same winning percentage as Riley did before he came here.
True and UCF gets after it on D. It would be interesting to see what Chinander would do, he likes to move guys down and have a ton of speed on defense. Would he be willing to do it in the B1G or would he try to match up to the Iowa’s and Minnesota’s (one of Pelini’s biggest mistakes, imo). There are two sides to the ball...I want a defense that plays with their hair on fire and attach.
UCF is at a 43.94% passing plays on the season.Their offense isn’t very physical and this year I believe they have thrown more than they have run, they threw 30 times in the first half alone against SMU. Those teams could pass, you’re right, but they didn’t go warp speed which puts massive stress on their own D because they are on the field so much. And Bowden's teams were pass heavy too
Miami didn't beat us in 83 running the ball either
Thanks. Got to love how efficient UCF is in their passing game. QB completes 70% and they hit some big plays.UCF is at a 43.94% passing plays on the season.

those numbers are disturbing when you look at nebraska
He falls into the category of...so crazy it just might work.
But I can just picture us in the not-to-distant future saying..."What the hell were we thinking?"
Just doesn't feel right.
