Decent coach. Should be able to recruit TX. Did better at Cal than people think. Tough job. Did well at SMU and is lighting it up at TCU. Not sure if he would leave the state TX.

I think the usual comments apply here about any other coach being discussed on this board.
I'm in full on apathy mode with the Cornhuskers. I'll watch every game until the mistakes/bad decisions drive me nuts and I walk away.
It may not be popular here, but depending on how Mickey does the rest of the way, I think he gets a shot(or not).
And "oh we cant keep doing these experiments!" Well, unless Mr homerun is out there, and he's apparently not, then I have no problem if he gets it done and gets the job.
I mean, F it. That's where I'm at.
I'll leave it to the bigger brains around here to be the color commentators.

Yeah and we would have been to a bowl two years in a row. Let em riot. 6-13 didn't do it. They should riot over something. The last riot I heard from the so-called fanbase was when the Frost hotseat talk started a couple of years ago. And many were appalled that someone would say such a thing.

I think TCU might be the most overrated team in the history of the Top 10, even more so when Iowa somehow conned the committee into ranking them 2nd.

Every big game they've played has seen them play other teams backup QB (Oklahoma, KSU, KU, OK St). Don't get me wrong, Dykes is a good coach, but his team has caught A LOT of breaks halfway through the season.

My point is that nobody knows who will work out and who won't, including the decision makers, and especially schleps on a message board. The takeaway is the same with recruiting...wait 2 years before you start to decide.

I would get excited about Dykes if he were to be a real candidate. I doubt he is... He's pretty Texas through and through. But you never know with big money offered!
