I have hosted a senior showcase event for the past several years around this time of the year. It's become an event I'm very proud of since many unsigned/uncommitted kids have been able to gain more looks and eventual offers. However, under the current COVID ordeal myself along with EFT haven't scheduled one yet for several various reasons. The main issue right now is from our calls and text to multiple college levels, very few if any in state or nearby schools would confirm to attending the event. Many at the FCS level are playing spring season and will not be on the road recruiting the same with some D2 schools. Local NAIA/D3 schools are also either playing a spring season or in many other cases the coaches will not be allowed to travel to events outside of the school.
Also another factor is finding a facility in Illinois where we can host this type of event under Tier 3 restrictions is very difficult if not impossible...this is why the underclassmen showcase has been relocated to Crown Point, Indiana.
I'm sure others will hold a senior event and I hope they have success with it...but I also refuse to charge 2021 kids and parents more $$$ for any event that won't directly impact or help them...and a simple workout with a limited amount of schools able to attend is in my opinion is not worth it.
