Had to work today was just looking at box score and noticed no carries for leddie.
They're hoping to have him back soon. He would have been a nice addition today with his running style and giving even more strength to the running game.

I don't believe all the King's Horses and all the King's men could have helped us today. JMU either has a great DL or our OL is not so good.

JMU is pretty good up front but WVU's line play is concerning. But keep in mind as soon as Brown's staff arrived they expressed serious concerns about the line. They were shocked with what they had to work with.

Don't know why, WVU was loaded and ready to win the Big XII this year if only Dana had stayed. Heard that from Buckaineer and I have to take his word ... only because there are no reasoning behind the assertions.

Apologists just making b.s. up because their "savior" did much worse than the previous coach would have? Who is surprised by this nonsense talk?

If Holgorsen had such a performance it was relentlous bashing.

Brown chased off half of Holgorsen's starters and now you see the result.

Under Holgorsen WVU would have put up big numbers over JMU.

Just curious what would you say to some of the Houston naysayers? Their offense and defense just took a step back tonight from were they were under the previous coach.

How’s that guy doing at Houston?
Hey now, the Gulf Coast is nice between May and Sept. You can't expect Dana to be toiling away when the Corona and boat are calling. Besides, after a few years, when he gets all that talent within the Houston area to Houston, they'll be whooping Oklahoma every year. It's not fair to expect Houston to beat the Sooners. Why, that hasn't happened in nary three years!

And for those haters who say beating Oklahoma is damn near impossible, I agree. WVU is only 2-7 in that last nine. We'll just forget that the previous coaches to play OU whipped its ***.

RR lost to Temple in his first year after taking over for a HOF coach. Despite the fact that he was a huge prick, only an idiot would think he wasn't a better HC during his 7 season run when compared to Dana. Dana wasn't even expected to be head coach his first season which may have helped him avoid attrition. When it was his first full season in charge, WVU was absolutely embarrassed down the stretch. Then in his 3rd season WVU turns into a RR 3-8 level squad that lost to Kansas. That is pretty damning when it is the 3rd and 4th season where you should see the dividends of a coach installing his system and recruiting his players. You never address the fact that DH finished 4th in the best chance he had to win the conference during the better part of a decade. You want to ignore that DH would give big wins against the lower tiers, but only occasionally beat the upper tiers in the conference. You want to ignore that ISU is in better position to compete for a Big 12 title than WVU despite 8 years of DH at the helm. You want to ignore that ANY coaching change at WVU was going to involve taking some lumps and regression. It all boils down to the fact that a rough transition season was inevitable and while Brown may not be the answer, Dana sure has hell wasn't the answer. Rather than take some lumps to strive for something better, you seem to advocate staying in a "tolerable" situation to avoid risk or adversity.

Last season, when we finished 4th, it shouldnt have been surprising...we had about the 4th best talent in the conference.

But they took 2 WRs and only 1 OL when they shopped for players from the transfer portal & JUCOs. Was that a mistake?

They took what they could get. What you want and who wants you are often two different things. They would have loved to have added more linemen but it didn't work out.

The point is that out of 8 seasons, last year was the best team DH assembled himself at WVU. Had he stayed, definitely not as good of a team this year and highly unlikely to have assembled as good of a team in 2020. 8 seasons definitely showed 3rd place finish is the best DH could do and it's not a stretch to extrapolate that there would be no conference title in 9 tries with a HC that has 10 seasons under his belt. So when I hear someone lamenting how WVU will have a worse 2019 with the coaching transition and the falsehood that WVU would be in contention if DH were back, I can't help but point out that WVU was looking at middle of the pack stagnation in the long term and just the 2019 season is a short sighted vision for the program. It's also frustrating when people like me are accused of accepting a down 2019 season during the transition accepting lower expectations for the program when in reality it's the opposite in that I'm willing to take a chance at being worse off in hopes of achieving something greater than the consistency of average to above average teams DH usually produced.

You arent really in a position to accept or reject anything. If WVU football isnt providing you adequate enterainment you can redirect your time to other activities.

I know it is difficult to accept, but you aren't taking any chances...at all, for anything...

If you want top conference finishes, then you need top conference level talent EVERY year...last year we had about 4 - 6 conference level talent so our finish didnt surprise me.

Whether this was the best team DH assembled, I'm not sure about that.

I could argue that by investing time in paying attention to WVU, I would be "choosing to accept" the product WVU is selling. But that is aside from the point. The point is, however you want to classify it, that some posters are falsely impugning the motives of those that are understanding of a rough transition season or 2. I believe WVU will have a rough season and maybe another one in 2020, but that is expected with a new coach especially one replacing an already ingrained odd system such as the 3-3-5. I'm willing to pay that price for the chance of achieving a higher level of competition than Dana achieved in 8 seasons. Some have suggested that this stance is "accepting" a lesser product than the previous coach when it is in fact the opposite. It is like losing weight or getting out of debt. It is accepting discomfort and sacrifice now in the hopes of attaining something better later rather than being complacent. It is foolish to think DH was in position in his 9th season to compete for the Big 12 when he finished 4th with a much more senior and talent laden roster the previous year. It is even more foolish to judge Brown as lesser than DH after the first game in his first season. Especially when DH had bigger gaffes in his 3rd season. What I'm trying to say is that making judgments on DH as a head coach at WVU is reasonable given he was the HC for 8 seasons. While making judgments on Brown as HC at WVU is foolhardy given he has one game under his belt.

Are you really as dumb as this post makes you seem? Please tell me you are NOT a WVU grad but, simply, a mentally challenged soul who happens to spew idiocy on this particular site.
