why not like manchester united stadium?
so they can see real football.

God bless the blarney stone, and guiness beer..

but would the british museum, the tower, westminster, etc etc etc...
be a better sightseeing destination? more bang for the buck...

Ireland is probably the most scenic country I have ever been to. England is very nice and I agree that their stadiums are very good, but give me the Irish countryside 10 times out of 10.

I guess I'm more into history, and ireland has it's history...but london is like paris and rome.....a real center of history...I guess thats what would attract me first...scenic stuff is nice, but montana or alaska seems sufficient for that, to me anyhow...I did egypt, israel, lil turkey & greece, italy, lil spain (kinda a providence thru time thing)......so paris and london are the 2 big ones on the bucket list...if I could knock off that while seeing NU football..that would be a-ok

Dublin to London is an easy hop. Spent a week in London a few years back before going over to Germany for a conference. Very easy to get around in Europe.
And yes, London is great. So is Ireland. Recommend both if you can swing it

well its better then ksu in japan...but I don't know...theres alot of places that could work..
maybe the olympic stadium in greece or the hippodrome in rome or constantinople..

If I were Trev Alberts, I would strongly consider calling the Big 10 and try to back out of the Ireland trip. Scott Frost and the entire staff are essentially coaching for their jobs next year - I doubt they really want to deal with traveling all the way to Ireland to play Northwestern - I sure wouldn't.

well, I'm orthodox presbyterian..so I guess I'd fit in northern ireland...but
I'm 1/4th irish, half my family is roman catholic, I had a friend name cork and I appreciate st. patrick squaring away the barbarians...but
I'm also 1/4 english, danish and german..so that makes me think more east of ireland.

as far as constantinople. sure times were rough back in the day but theologically I'm with them a lot more then a muhammadan or mongolian..byzantium was a good thing for the world. and constantine...even though I wouldn't agree with him on everything....he was a lot better than nero or diocletian's... he didn't throw my peoples to lions.

That's actually our plans. Been to Ireland before so only going to be there mostly during the weekend of the game plus buffer days. Then fly over to London and spend close to a week there.

This game is one of the highlights of next year and certainly something to mention to transfers and recruits about why coming to NU will be more fun than a lot of other destinations. Ny only concern is the game could be another casualty of covid insanity.

Nope not easy at all. The Baseball regular season doesn’t end until early October. No way are the Cubs allowing a football game to destroy their field with a month to go in the regular season.

The games Northwestern has played at Wrigley have been scheduled to be played in November.

How about the Coliseum in Rome? If the game doesn't look like it will sell out they could offer free bread to encourage people to come.

I don't know but it probably comes down to the best financial arrangement available.

I been in the colosseum..I don't think it's big enough for a football field
