Because they suck. Last year in my dad's season tickets a KU fan was there for the game KY-KU and sit behind me and had the nerve to ask me to move up. You guys know the benches LOL. I'm 6ft1 and 235lbs, not a small guy. I was sitting normal, finally I told him your a guest shut the F-up. He cried so much a girl finally switched seats with him. They suck, their coach is so dam dirty, Fans obnoxious, even give us a run for our money. Just hate them, probably for me it's Dook, UNCheat, KU then Louisville. I mean Louisville just isn't really a threat.

Because at the Phog, refs make the other teams dribble.

Really never had much a problem until January 30th 2016. Something like 45 free throws in the second half and over time with UK only shooting 10 or 11 of those. And UK had all 4 big guys who played foul out. Not sure how much it happened before because I never paid much attention to KU but now it's becoming routine...an underdog builds lead in the Phog, and the whistles come through. "Pay heed all who enter, beware of the Phouls"

not rivals per se so why the hate?

I had no issue with Kansas until Calipari signed. Kansas was the favorites in 2009-2010 and the way their fans behaved on this forum and every comments section afterward is why I grew to dislike them. I used to enjoy watching them before that.

Also, there is not a worse place for officiating than Phog. No one comes close. Not Duke. Not UNC. Not Kentucky. That place will always find a way to cheat the opposing team.

I would bet it has something to do with people sometimes calling us KU instead of UK and vice versa. That has to be it.

KU has 5 championships bro

No, they do not. It's dishonest to pull this crap and only Kansas and UNC do it. NCAA Championships started in 1939. Claiming a championship from votes when it was after the fact and there was no way they saw the teams play nor was a tournament held, is dishonest.

These are the stats regardless of fake banners and t-shirts.

UCLA 11
Kentucky 8
UNC 6
Duke 5
UConn 4
Kansas 3

Most UK fans I know personally don't really care much about KU. There's some dislike but thats just because historically KU is one of the better programs. We've also owned the series historically and there's a whole hell of a lot more bad blood between UK and IU, Duke, UNC, UL, UT, etc...If you feel any "hate" from UK fans you probably just saw loud people on social media which hate on most other programs regardless. I can't think of anyone personally that really cares either way.

This. If UK did that, we would have 2 more NC's in basketball, and one in football. The OP could have looked at his own post, claiming 5, and known the answer to his question. Plus, we hate that basketball has two sets of rules, one for KU when playing Big 12 games, and then what the rest of basketball plays by.

Because their fans like to act holier than thou when their coach is the second biggest phony in college basketball behind K, as far as “a good human being”.

I don’t think most UK fans felt one way or the other about Kansas up until several years back, since Cal has been here. KU fans, along with IU and U of L, fans seemed to have led the way with all of the anti-OAD, anti-Cal, and anti-UK trash talking.

I used to read a select few other boards periodically, and the Kansas one was generally full of hate for UK. Accused us of cheating (I especially remember when our player’s dorm was built). Of course a few years later, you all were bragging about how much nicer your new one was, and posting a virtual tour on your board, lol.

Not to mention the grief Cal and UK took for all of the OADs, and how beneath you all that type of recruiting was. Of course Duke and UNC fans did the same. And now look.[eyeroll]

JMO, of course, but to me, KU fans initiated it.

It's more "laugh at them" than "hate them." Beating their chests over conference titles and Helms trophies... you can't help but laugh at them.

Well 14 back to back is quite an accomplishment. No need to foolishly devalue such a feat considering the landscape and competitiveness of cbball these days.
