Why does Rutgers seem small time?

I have a freshman at RU and a senior at Clemson. I have been to PSU a hundred times. I have been to every BIG campus for a game and to me it seems like RU is minor league. From the football stadiums, the basketball arenas, new construction on campus, etc. With enrollment at RU so big shouldn't it be better?
So the PSU Cult atmosphere is really the hill you want to die on?

I tell you what, draw a 50 mile circle around Rutgers, psu, and Clemson. Here are a few things you will certainly find about your 2 big time programs and the environment in which they thrive.

- significantly lower per capita income
- significantly lower education levels
- significantly lower home ownership
- much higher percentage of people living in dwellings on wheels
- much higher incidence of opioid addictions
- much lower access to professional services and quality medical care
- much less ethnic, religious, and cultural diversity (we all know why they call it a whiteout… PS other than the pay they receive I don’t know why an ethnic minority athlete would attend psu where only the athletes are minorities)
- much fewer job opportunities
- much fewer retail, cultural, entertainment, restaurant, and social opportunities
- Fewer, make that, no beaches
- less teeth per person
- higher percentage of people marrying immediate family
- greater acceptance of heinous crimes to protect the only thing of value in their lives (football)
- greater number of housewives posting amateur nudes online

YEAH BIG TIME

Hell, I have lived my whole life in NJ and never really paid attention to RU.
You aren't in a minority with this sentiment, unfortunately. But know that Rutgers' impact on the state of NJ is greater than many realize or give it credit for. For many years it didn't have much of a platform to provide visibility on this front but that has expanded since being in the B1G.

Very few FBS teams in pro markets draw well. All of these teams have trouble drawing crowds:

BC
Md
Pitt
Georgia Tech
Miami
USF
Houston
Southern Cal
UCLA
Vandy
Cincinnati
