Why does Mississippi seemingly pull off so many more upsets than us?

they do it on football and basketball much more than we do year after year. They beat us when we are favored and supposed to win from time to time. Why?

How come they are able to do this at a much higher rate than we are? That is the only thing that bothers me about their program as compared to ours...and it pisses me off

when you're the underdog. Under Stansbury, we're normally the favorite.

I hate the mf'ers...but one thing they do better than us- and that is pull upsets...I wonder why they are able to pull it off way more than us

**edited to add**- they have pulled off upsets against the top team on football and now basketball...when is the last time we have done that?

Or beating Florida when we were 28 point underdogs in 2004? Even as ****** as our football team was the past 5 years we had big upsets too. Just like OleMiss, we also lost many games we should have won in those years.

In basketball its hard to have upsets when you are almost always favored, especially at home.

But then again, it's probably just your innate nature to look for the good in others and see nothing but bad in MSU.

I can hammer this one away with game after game...it wouldnt take much time to look up...Stansbury never upsets anyone outside of the SEC West

Florida hasn't won in Starkville since the Felker days, right? That we've beaten Alabama twice as many times in the past 15 years as Ole Miss has in the past 30? I mean, outside of the Florida game, when was the last time Ole Miss upset somebody in football? I'm not taking the Cotton Bowl, a lot of people thought they'd win that one.

We didn't have a single upset in football from 2004-2007. I don't know the last time we had a big upset in baseball.

do you think we were the favorite in last year versus underdog?

How retarded are you? You'd rather be a crappy team that pulls off upsets from time to time than the favorite night in and night out. I get better conversation out of my cat.

Auburn, Kentucky, and Alabama were all favored against us in 2007. But those wins don't count, I forgot, we scored on defense. Only counts if you don't do that.

You are the biggest ******* internet troll in history. Please God, make tonight the night.

But I know in 2007 we beat Florida at Florida, pretty sure we were not the favorite in that game. We also beat KY at home, not sure what the line was. We beat South Carolina in Columbia, again not sure if we were favored or not. You just forget all the MSU wins because you hate that they happened. And remember the OleMiss ones because you can't wait to grab the k-y and jack off to Andy Kennedys limp dick in your mouth.

when you are an underdog 3 times as often.

I bet you that MSU has more upsets over the past 10 years from the underdog position than Duke does. I'm smart!

what are you going to consider a "much higher rate"? When you do your research and find that we have five or six more upsets in two sports over 10 years than MSU, are you then going to decide that's what you had in your mind all along?

already did it.

1998-MSU beats Arkansas, Ole Miss beats no one with a winning record.

1999-Obviously we were favored most games, Ole Miss beats one team with a winning record, an 8-4 Arkansas team. Ole Miss was 6-2 coming in, Arkansas was 5-2, the game was at Ole Miss. I bet they were favored.

2000-We beat Florida, they beat us, I think we were favored.

2001-They beat LSU, we beat them.

2002-They beat Florida, we didn't beat anyone with a winning record. That was a crappy Florida team (Zook) but I'm sure the Gators were favored.

2003-We beat a 9-4 Memphis team that beat Ole Miss, they didn't beat anyone that finished better than them.

2004-We beat Florida, they beat South Carolina.

2005-They beat a 7-5 Memphis team. But we beat them, they may have been favored.

2006-We beat Bama, they beat us. I don't think we were favored.

2007-We beat Auburn, Kentucky, and Alabama. They beat Memphis, who finished 7-6.

2008-They beat Florida, we beat Vanderbilt.

How does it stack up? Moron.

Who gives a flying 17? Why don't you make yourself productive and go back and find out who has more West titles and overrall SEC titles in basketball along with the most NCAA appearances the past 10 years? That would be awesome...

I don't know what I was thinking, but I am definitely wrong. MSU and OleMiss have about the same number of upsets over the past 10 years and I was foolish to think otherwise. I get all excited in my loins when I see OleMiss and other SEC teams doing well, please accept my apologies.

It's been a long day for me, my internet date my mom set me up with turned out to be a guy so I went and got drunk.

Covering the spread and pulling off an upset are two different things. Good job twisting the facts to support your argument though.

Even if you go by covering the spread, one a year isn't significantly more like your original post made it out to be.

was this year's LSU game. We really going to call that an upset? What about that 3 point loss to Alabama in 2007? Not really an upset if you don't win, is it? Or only losing at Georgia in 2005 by 5? Or losing to Auburn that same year by 6? I bet those games beat the spread. 3 point loss to Bama in 2005? LSU 2004? These are all losses, but they more than likely covered.

Maybe you meant they were upsets after you teased them to Ole Miss +whatever?

What does covering the spread have to do with having upsets? How many of those games were wins by OleMiss over teams they were the underdog to? That is you know, the definition of an upset. Unless you are changing the argument to who has covered the spread more, which has absolutely nothing to do with upsetting other teams.

The only spread that matters right now is the over/under on you looking foolish in this thread, and it's currently at about 20.

An upset is if you beat someone straight up. Not this spread ****.

State- 48-63
Mississippi- 56-56
Well let's say this. The 48 we covered were upsets of better teams. The 56 Ole Miss covered were games they were favored or lost but covered to better teams That **** has so many holes in it, it looks like a 17ing prairie dog field. You said upsets... That doesn't have anything to do with upsets.

Mississippi- 62 wins the last 10 years

They have won more games, they have covered more spreads, they have more upsets...all you 17-sticks lose on this one...and what sux is....I probably hate them more than all of you combined....but you idiots start your **** and make me prove you wrong...Oh, and Brutius- eat a dick

You realize many of those covered spreads were as favorites right? Many of them were covered and the game was still lost. The only time its an upset is when they were underdogs, they covered, AND they won. Noone calls losing a game by 3 points when a 7 point underdog an upset, they call it a winning bet if you bet on that team to cover.

%*##!+% bozo the clown, seriously are you drunk tonight or something?

So, because they have won more games and covered more spreads then that equals that they have more upsets? Hmmm... I think they covered the wake game this year, but yet no upset? I think they beat memphis this year and covered. Was that an upset? You = dubmass...

(?p's?t') To defeat unexpectedly (an opponent favored to win).

I tried, really I did, to find a definition on there that said an upset was covering a spread regardless of being favored or not, but I couldn't.

I think coach might have gotten a bad bag of weed or something tonight

Wow, coach. I thought even you were smarter than this. Do yourself a favor and let this one roll on over to page 2. Maybe if you're lucky it'll go relatively unnoticed by the majority of the readers here since its kinda late.
