Barnes and Crean. Two coaches that have probably near 60 years between them and have coached some all time greats. They just have Cal's number. This game is over. Cal isn't changing anything. He's hoping Barnes out chokes him.

Tennessee has had some decent teams in recent history that we have to play at their place at once a season.
Calling Barnes a mediocre coach is pretty off base. He's probably in the second tier of coaches in the country.
Just checked. He's .500 against Cal. I'd say based on where they both coach he's gutting cal like a fish. At 11:30 tonight he has a winning record against Cal.

Yes he has. And final fours and titles aren't the only way to measure coaches. Mark Few, Jay Wright, and Scott Drew never made final fours or title games until all of a sudden they did.
Bruce Pearl only has 1 final 4 as well, I believe. He’s mediocre too I suppose.
It is usually unwise to make posts like this in the middle of a game. Anyone who didn't expect Tennessee to come out and make a run at UK is not thinking. We haven't looked very good but we're not out of the game. The first 5 minutes of this second half will tell us a lot. We're gonna have to play our best to win this one.

First Barnes had no final 4s, then he did. Then, he only had one. Then, he only has 1 in 25 years with a power 5 school.
Not much mediocre with Barnes, he's a great coach no matter what you think. Shouldn't be on Cal's level, but there is zero shame losing to Barnes when he has a good team like this year.
