Why do college BB coaches wear lounge wear looking stuff?

Why do they wear uniforms at all? Football and basketball coaches don't, track and soccer coaches don't. I've always thought it was dumb for them to

There was a time when it was common for baseball coaches and managers to actually play, in addition to coaching and managing. It probably comes from that.

Yep. It would be weird to see a manager wearing a suit in the dugout. Just curious when they started wearing these capes..must be ultra cool or something, they’re like a hyped up Columbia fishn shirt.
