You forgot about Hy-Vee when he took every single pack of regular lil smokies and then threw a pack of jalepeno lil smokies across the aisle and yelled "who the f wants jalepeno lil smokies?"
I think this was the straw that broke the Camel's back and Perlman went out and got Eichorst the next day.

Exactly which players should Riley have got for that 2015 class that fit his system? Juco or grad transfer? Specific name.

There had to be someone available. I remember reading a LSJ article online back in December, 2014 that described newly arrived Riley and his cohorts gathered in the corner of Memorial Stadium watching Barney Cotton and the remaining Pelini assistant coaches run the Huskers through practice in preparation for the Las Vegas Bowl. I will go out on a limb here but just maybe if they spent more time out beating the brush for new recruits like SF and company are currently doing instead of lounging around their new digs snickering at the soon to be departed assistant coaches they would have been more successful during their stay in Lincoln.

1. More commits in 2015 class when Riley took over. Him and his staff were all over the country securing the commitments and visiting new recruits. It's either your memory is bad, or your agenda is showing. I know which it is..

2. 2015 class didn't have an early signing period. Big, big difference with the current push.

Coach Frost and a few assistants have done a great job in a short time.

We actually went to a bowl his first year and SHOCKED the nation when we beat UCLA. That's when Calibraska started to gain traction.

Having said that, Bo would have won 9 games during Riley's first year.
My bad, i forgot we backed into a bowl with 5 wins.

Agree. He was never going to be a great coach, but a good one. We’ll probably never get a top coach (with all due respect to SF) due to where we are. Parity hurt Neb more than any school in College. Top talent will never come here consistently. We’ll win the West every 5 years and Good a good run every decade only to be let down when we have to play a true top 15.
Well, here we go again with another ‘woe are we” post. We just landed the AP coach of the year, and you, weirdly, lament our inability to land a top coach (‘with all due respect” of course), when we just did. I got news for you pal, Clemson, Florida and even vaunted Alabama, are not impenetrable temples, they’ll have ups and downs too. College football will also evolve. So why not try to look at the glass half full, instead of singing the blues before you’ve even seen what our new coach can do.

His temperament was a ticking time bomb. Hated to recruit. Outside of that he is a damn good coach. Who never understood kissing the asses of 17 -year-old kids. Didn’t make sense to him. And we all saw sideline demeanor.

Had he put more effort into recruiting and cooling his temper he might still be our coach and we might be a top 10 program year in and year out.

When Harvey the Perlman went out and hired Eichorst for the main reason of firing BP I think that pressure got to BP and carried onto the field. someone should of got rid of HP when he hired an AD without even thinking of what he had done at his present position at the U.

In a year where it seemed like half of the Division 1 teams were looking for coaches his name was not uttered once.

That is all you need to know.

Not sure I buy all of this talk. Carl got another job, all be it a D coordinator. It seems that most of these coaches can recreate themselves and get a good gig.

I think Bo has a good football IQ and that will go a long ways in this biz.

Does anyone REALLY know if he applied for anything or responded to any interest in him? If there is real evidence then that would tell us something but speculating doesn't. He may be just pleased as punch to be where he's at with a lot less pressure on him to win.
