I'd like to see Purdy given an opportunity to start a game. I hope whoever is going to start is decided early this week and given a vast majority of the #1 practice reps.

HH isn't healthy amd hasn't been for a few weeks. He can't do what makes him a "good" qb. Which is run. Not sure how it's fair to him or the team to run him out there. He'll most likely take some big hits.

It's November, everyone is ailing. College football is a different game late in the season. The caveat is that timing should be down, you're most effective players should be obvious, and everyone knows their roles. But physically, it's tough guy time.

I don't doubt his toughness. I thinks it's pretty evident. I think he's too hurt to do what he does best.

Wisconsin secondary is a mess. This is not your typical Leonhard (now at ILLinois) defense. Go with the best passer - Purdy.

What he does best?
A qb who scares the bejeebers out of me whenever he goes back to pass. Isn't at all a ball distributor, the antithesis of Thomas Lott running the option, he's got one thing and it isn't anything exclusive to qb's. A qb who can run is a bonus. A qb who can only run isn't a qb.

Preaching to the choir.

He's too beat up to do what made him a threat from the qb spot. I never said that makes him a good qb.

He's a tough kid. I think he's a good football player being forced to play out of position because that what the team needed. The dude is probably gonna be a fantastic TE/H.

Agree. He's the kind of kid you want on your team. I still think he might be a good linebacker but I might be all wet. Just a guess. I just don't want to see the ball in his hands.

He was already lining up as a TE in the first couple games. I'm fine with him having the ball in his hand a couple times a game. Just not to throw it.

The best passer is the one with the weakest arm and worst completion percentage both this season and for his career?

Makes sense.

What are you basing this on? Because it’s certainly not performance/reality.

It won't matter. We still have a worthless OC/QB coach. If I was Tony White, I would demand a raise ta ta today junior... Shatthimself is far from a P5 coach.

Sims has checked out in my opinion after yesterday he’s done..

Most likely we never see him take a snap again..

Purdy evidently is playing with a groin injury that will require surgery in the offseason.
Is he hurt every year, cause sure seems like someone writes it every season. How is he hurt, he hasn't done anything.

If HH has a bad ankle then he has to sit and get healthy for Iowa

We're in a really tough spot. HH is useless if he can't run. He's out. Purdy has a groin injury, he likely wouldn't make it through a game, you don't want to give him the majority of reps during the week if he can't make it. He's like HH, if he can't run, he's useless. He's out. Simms is actually the best passer of the three and a good runner. If he could somehow fix his turnovers, he'd give us the best chance. The turnover thing is like a curse on him, but I think he's the only choice we've got for Wisconsin.

We won't win if Sims has multiple turnovers, which is his history. Isn't there any other quarterback on the roster who can just complete simple passes and not turn the ball over?

Context matters. The people have spoken. They saw that he looked just a little bit better back there in a small sample size. Ran just as well as HH too which wasn’t surprising either.

51-11 Purdy currently in the poll. He has always looked more like an actual QB. HH throws too many passes that any of our linebackers would be closer to hitting. Undeniable evidence at this point. I do not believe anyone will be fixing his terrible, inconsistent accuracy.

It’s simply another blunder by the offensive staff on who should’ve been stepping into play at any given position all year, but he was also injured. Looking healthy now and I would say has a great chance to start next week.

Well anybody that we throw back there, Wisconsin will make look bad. My hope would be that Sims could rise to be the player he could be and be a leader. The pressure at this point is boiling and maybe you just throw in Chubba, just to go out and play . My kingdom just for a Matt Turman.

It was reported that the coaching staff themselves said this, so maybe basing it on that? 🤷🏻‍♂️

Have you seen our other two QBs?? Do you seriously watch the games? A weak arm is the least of anyone’s concerns right now. Even with 2 less attempts, Mr. Weak arm had nearly our longest pass play, of the day because he didn’t throw it 8-20 yards away from his target.

Hey look the guy who spent the year telling everyone Anthony grant is our best back now wants to weigh in on the QB

He's the perfect QB if you are gonna run Osbornes playbook and you make sure he pitches it most of the time the option is called. Which is what we should be doing. But nooooooooo

Poll now at 60-13. Tough day for wrong kong.
yea, dude

a poll of football illiterates like you is surely the most scientific way to see who's right/wrong

we may find out again this week what we already knew about purdy and conveniently forgot

I hope we don't so we actually have a puncher's chance

I know little about Purdy other than he HASNT turned the ball over like a lunatic.
He's our last hope for saving the season. It may be a false hope but I'd rather find out for sure.
I also want him to succeed for no other reason than to read a bevy of your ridiculous posts late Saturday night.

Purdy’s mistake came off of a terrible play call while the other two have simply been gifting the ball to the other team non-stop. Give him a chance, it literally could not be any worse.
