I believe that Henry and Watson could split the Southeastern Vote. There isn't anyone to divide up the Western vote for McCaffery. Personally, I would have loved to see Reynolds win it. It would be great to see a service academy guy win it again (I guess Staubach was the last one). I have a friend whose son played for Navy until his untimely death, and I have always pulled for them a bit.

McCaffrey seems to have the late-season momentum. Plus he broke Barry Sanders's all-purpose yardage record, which is impressive (although the football season does have more games now than it did 20+ years ago).

Derek Henry broke Herschel Walker's single season SEC rushing yardage record. (44 year record).

Both of these guys have really done something special.

He was famous for his Jedi mind tricks, especially at that game against Illinois in 2012. To quote Alex Guinness, they are effective on the weak-minded [Beckman]. Queue the clip of the ref tripping Beckman and then flagging him.

Although NU held McCaffrey in check in our game, I would take him in a heartbeat for a whole bunch of reasons.

First, I've been able to watch him over the course of this season, and he is just a remarkable football player. His offensive capabilities extend well beyond being a great running back. He's a threat coming out of the backfield as a receiver and once he gets possession can take it to the house - that also goes for when he runs it. He's a threat on the RB option pass as Notre Dame found out. He's a threat returning punts and kickoffs. And finally, from observation, he appears to be a great teammate that makes everyone around him better. He's the same character type as the kids that NU tries to recruit.

Have to go with McCaffrey after watching his performance in the title game. Not sure how many Heisman voters though were watching that game as their body clocks were probably turned off at that hour.

If he does not get the Heisman it will of course be Northwestern's fault. Maybe for a consolation prize we can all chip in to award him an alarm clock.

It should be McCaffery, but Henry will win. ESPN had anointed the trophy to LSU's running back and they made a late season switch when LSU fell apart. McCaffery was by far the best player in college football this year, but that never seems to matter if that player is outside
of the SEC.

I know it's the way it's always been, but why the hell is the voting before the bowl games. The most important game or games of the season are still to be played for many teams, why shouldn't that be considered. If Clemson wins out and Watson plays well, shouldn't it be him - same with Henry.

Henry---but I wish it could be someone else. I have nothing against Henry. I just think Alabama football gets too much attention.
