My parents are planning a vacation to Ireland in 2020. They may want to delay for a year.

Remember Irish Fighting Rules apply. Headbut unsuspecting foe, kick downed foe until motionless.
Order another pint of Guinness.

Great thing about this is that we are not giving up our home game.
Yep. Four true road games that year instead of five:
  • Aug. 28 vs. Illinois (Dublin)
  • Sept. 4 BYE
  • Sept. 11 Buffalo
  • Sept. 18 at Oklahoma
  • Sept. 25 at Michigan State
  • Oct. 2 Ohio State
  • Oct. 9 Northwestern
  • Oct. 16 at Purdue
  • Oct. 23 BYE
  • Oct. 30 Michigan
  • Nov. 6 Iowa
  • Nov. 13 Southeast Louisiana
  • Nov. 20 Wisconsin
  • Nov. 26 at Minnesota
Only one September home game, two bye weeks instead of one, four straight home games from Oct. 30 through Nov. 20, and what should be a beautiful day in Minnesota for that season finale against the defending 2020 national champions.

Holy crap. I see 3 wins & a lot of beatdowns for us on that schedule.

Frost has better get it turned around ASAP.

Was just in Ireland in August. I would go back, will definitely consider it but hard to commit to something 2 years away.

Good fn God that is a rough schedule. OU, MSU, OSU back to back to back. Damn.

Why is the B1G doing this? I don't get it. It can't be a money thing can it? It sure as hell doesn't appear to do anything for the schools and I can't imagine being a player having to play a game after flying that far. Dumb idea IMO.

I think it would be a mistake in the middle of the season, but it looks like there's plenty of cushion on either side of that date.

OK Buzz Killington. I bet 100% of the players are excited for a free trip to Ireland. They'll obviously go out ahead of time to account for practice and jet lag.

People ***** about releasing balloons and the "harm" it does to the environment. What does flying a couple of teams and all of their gear to Ireland and back do? I don't understand the benefit to anyone I guess.

You can bet Illinois and the Big Ten are being well compensated by Ireland or this would not happen. You don't think Navy and Notre Dame are being handsomely rewarded for doing this? What about the Red Sox-Yankees in London this year or the Cards-Cubs next year? Believe me there is money involved or this would not be happening.

Husker seating sections selling out fast. Pretty sure they've already added some in addition to the original offerings.

I went back and looked at some pictures of the 2016 match up between Boston college and Georgia tech. Hopefully they move the field a little bit otherwise there's going to be a long distance between Husker seating and the field. Also the bottom level is very flat. Not sure how good a view it would be.

Not trying to throw cold water on anyone who is thinking about going. We were VERY interested in looking into it but in my opinion, if you can't get club seating, my interest in going has dropped a bunch. Only club level seats available appears to be 15 yard line and under.

By the way, Illinois hasn't sold out a section yet.

Another BTW, a freshman running back named Mills scored the game winning TD.

Good experience for the players but I agree - not sure of the benefit. Furthermore if I’m spending 1000s of dollars to go to Ireland, watching an American football game while I’m there isn’t on the bucket list. But I understand how this might appeal to others

How does the ticketing work? I have 0 desire to buy a travel package as I have family in Dublin and can just go and stay there. Will they put tickets up for local people?

If you just want to buy tickets, they will have them available in 2021. Only way to get the best tickets is to book a package. But my advice would be to wait or have your family look into buying them from their side. It's an economic development/tourism gig for Ireland. Their economy is in bad shape

We’ve been considering a trip to Ireland for a few years now. Seems like the perfect time to take that trip...
