IDK if I would describe them as "bulldogs". I guess more than what we have now. Not as high on the twins as some probably are. Their first season was a wreck (until aaron saved the day, so for THAT, he's great in my book). Andrew wasn't exactly efficient with the ball. We're also looking at them as a two-fer tandem, that stayed two years. Rouhgly what, 80 games for the two of them, compared to 4 games of Askew and Mintz.

I'd rather have Ulis. He's who I want, maybe the most. Too bad his team was ****. Kentucky is undefeated right now with Ulis on this team. I don't know if I can say that about having Andrew.

Oh they were head hunters. Definitely alphas. Just weren't as talented as some had them.

The Harrison Twins?

I was thinking about them the other day. Bulldogs are needed.

When did Cal take a liking to such soft athletes?

Definitely a question I ask regularly, not just Kentucky but other sports I follow. So many obstacles in sports can be overcome by toughness and grit. It was common in all sports many years ago. It’s much less common now. It’s much less common in general......our current culture is doing its best to feminize men. I digress.....

Then the rest of us will eat free at their expense.

To this day they are the back court I am most ambivalent about in my time watching Kentucky basketball.

Clutch? Amazingly clutch, but also egg layers at weird, inopportune times.

Good on defense? Both were plus defenders, but struggled with smaller guards mightily.

Winners? Yes, but also ignominious losers with the worst body language of anyone I've ever seen wear the uniform.

Efficient on offense? Good assist to turnover ratio, but total bricklayers.

They were really tough grinders. Maybe the ultimate Cal backcourt outside of a super duper PG like Rose or Wall.

KID ON MY HIGH SCHOOL FOOTBALL TEAM (I HELP COACH, NOT OFFICIALLY ANYMORE) HAD A FLAT TIRE WHEN HE CAME OUT OF PRACTICE LAST YEAR. HE HAS A MAN BUN. I HAD TO CHANGE HIS TIRE FOR HIM. 17 YEARS OLD.

I DIDNT REALIZE THIS WAS IN ALL CAPS BUT I'M TOO LAZY TO CHANGE IT.

I remember when I had my leaner's permit at 15. I wanted to drive to church one Sunday. We got a flat, and dad was like "You're driving, it's your flat" lol.

Didn't we lose 11 games the Harrison twins first year? At one point there was a lot of buzz we may miss the tournament for a 2nd year. By mid December they also had 3 losses. It didn't really improve until the SEC tournament when we had the "tweak!" Had they not of ended with the miraculous tourney run, they would have likely been one of the bottom 2-3 teams of the Cal era.

I kill for a time machine to go back and make Cal call a f#cking timeout to get Andrews head right.

They both will always be remembered for quite possibly the most fun tourney ride in UK history, however.

If I'm going to kill for one, give me Ulis, if I can't have him, give me Fox, if I can't have him, give me Wall.
Andrew falls in line after them, but it would have to be the Sophomore version, the Freshman version was pretty soft for half the season.

Ulis allllll daaaaayyyyyyy

If I remember correctly, the board was about half and half on them.

But they are the types of player when you look back, you'll take them every time during moments like this. Just their nature alone would help.

Most people seemed to suggest back then they were moody, bad tempered, cancers, and didn't like being coached. That literally all changed after the tournament run. They became legends. I am not saying they wouldn't be better than askew and Mintz, but we have better options in our past to choose from. I would take Ashton back in a second. Him on this team would be awesome. He made some dumb mistakes and needed that wake up call, but overall he was a solid PG. Put the talent we have now around a guy like that, good things would happen.

I couldn't take Hagans over Andrew right now. Hagans had a lot of problems.

I remember people thinking Andrew was not coachable and a head case. That's why I think looking back even those people see that all differently now. I just think the dog in those guys would come in handy right now. I could see Andrew in some of these guys faces for sure.

I would like to have Ulis, too. What a leader and player, he was !!

I still think Ashton was more skilled and would fit better with this group. Plus, it would be a great redemption story.

Looking back, what it should teach us is that if we give these guys some time and patience to learn and grow through their mistakes and losses, we can end up with one hell of a ride in the end.

I love the twins. If I could have them both I’d take them on this team. But if I can only have 1, it’s Ulis or Knight for the shooting ability on top of being steady w the ball.
