Tiger is the odds on favorite, but I don't think he finishes top 5.
Jason Day is my favorite, but I give him almost no shot at all. If I had to bet, I think I take Justin Thomas

People rooting for Tiger really confuses me. The guy cares about one person - himself. He doesn't sign autographs, blows fans off and acts like a jerk on the course. Yet people root for him.
Yeah I agree. I’ve been off the Tiger bandwagon for a long time now. But he is still pursuing history, so there is a lot of intrigue there.

I’m with you on the fact that I’m not really a fan of Tiger but him being back in the game and knowing that Jacks record is right there makes it interesting to keep up with. Personally I hope he never reaches the major mark but it’s fun to watch whether you like or don’t like him.

he wont catch Jack,he'll be lucky to win one more major, too many good young players, and they are not intimidated by him like many of his peers 10-15 years ago

I don’t really disagree with what you are saying, but I can’t 100% count Tiger out.

Tigers talent has spoken for itself, but for me, he has to win "something" before I consider him a favorite to win a major. It really surprises me that he is the odds on favorite for the masters when he hasn't won a golf tournament in so long

I like the way Ricky Fowler has been playing. He is going to break through and win a major and when he learns how to play on Sunday and win, he will roll off several major championships. I would love to see this one and be the one that gets him rolling. I like Ricky and the time he gives to kids and sponsors, he seems like a great human being. He is always doing something positive with kids.

The players who do well there in the past generally do well - they rise to the challenge. Phil has a zillion top 10s there. Tiger as well.

I have little doubt that Tiger, Phil, Bubba, and Spieth should all be contenders (or, 3 of the 4; one usually bombs out).

I am rooting for #4 for Phil - but fear if he's in it, it will be heartbreak city. I think Tiger will absolutely be there but not win.

My head? I think Justin Thomas. That kid has just been consistently dominant more than any other player over the past 6-8 months. What a competitor.

First and foremost, I’m a golf fan. Tiger is very good for golf. I don’t care whether he wins or not, but Tiger being good is good for golf.

I know the economy played a huge role in golf’s ‘drop off’ with casual fans and players, but I also think Tiger’s disappearing act played a role too. Tiger, when he was good, made golf cool. There’s great players today, but none carry that same kind of persona.

I sometimes root for Tiger because him winning takes me back to when I was first dating my wife. We loved watching when he got in that focused mode and did those amazing things on the course. It was pure entertainment. We've had moments in golf like that more recently. My wife cried when Bubba won. Several guys have had amazing hot streaks, but none that have reached what Tiger did.

Yes, he's been a prick at times, and yes he ran around on his family. He's been selfish, but this doesn't make him a terrible person in my mind. He acted terribly because he was under the spell of the bearded clam. It's hard to imagine how I'd act under the same circumstances, so while he's not forgiven of these transgressions, I'm not going to act like he's all that different than myself (though I hope I would never behave that way). He's shown kindness in the past too, and I believe it was never his intention to hurt anyone.

Bottom line: No you can't hang out with my wife, Tiger, but yes, we hope you play some great golf at the Master's. We're pulling for you to not act like a douche anymore too.

Jordan finished strong in Houston, he has some mojo coming into Augusta. It will be interesting. Several of the euro players are playing really good also.

I remember watching the 2008 U.S. Open when Tiger and Rocco Mediate played the “greatest round of golf in history” or whatever they called it. It was as exciting as Gold could possibly ever be... and I was bored to tears. I couldn’t wait for it to end. I’d rather watch the commercials.
What am I missing with golf? I hate it. I think it’s mainly because you can’t yell and cheer while the “athlete” is doing his thing, ya know? What if you couldn’t yell and scream at a basketball or football game? That’d be crazy! I quit respecting the “sport” when Davis Love has the crowd member kicked out for saying “No Love” a bunch of times. That was weak. No Love from me either.
I know a lot of you probably play, so I’m not trying to offend, I just never saw any appeal other than for old men to have something to do...
What y’all think?

if you don't play, I can understand why you feel that way. Before I started playing, there's no way I would have watched in on TV. Once you start playing though, it is a very addicting game, and in my opinion, it's the hardest sport that amateurs can play to be consistently good at. It looks so simple, just hit the ball and it goes where you are trying to hit it. It doesn't work that way. Golf is REALLY tough to get good at for most people. And once you are hooked on it, then you watch the pros on TV for a lot of different reasons....trying to pick up something in their swing to make yours better, appreciating the difficult shots that they pull off, being wowed by some of the players power, and other reasons. If you really understand the game, and know how tough it is, then watch a match like Phil and Stenson had in the open a couple years ago, under the conditions they were doing it in, it is very humbling. There are a lot of scratch golfers that I would bet couldn't break 100 if they played on some of these tournaments

I try to play golf. Key word there is try. It is a very frustrating game to play. I consider myself fairly athletic, but golf is one of those games I never was really good at. I do enjoy getting out and playing.
Now as far as sitting in the house and watching it on tv? No way! I don’t care what tournament is on or who is playing. If golf is on tv, I’m going to sleep. I would rather watch a nascar race than golf. That’s just me.

I can watch the majors, that's about it......not a big Nascar fan only, watching cars drive around in a circle does not do it for me...Stanley cup playoff's just around the corner, that's my game,i'm surprised more of you guys don't like hockey, fast, rough, tough elite athletes competing for the hardest trophy in sports to win

I have played golf all my life and have been to pro events and the shots they pull off and how they go about playing the game is remarkable to me. If you don’t play it’s hard to describe how hard the game is, once you start playing the game you get a different appreciation for how good pro golfers are especially the young guys
