All signs point to Frost coming back. Maybe offer the new assistant coaches a 3 year deal. Would give a 2 year Cushion for Frost and more job stability for assistants not walking into a 1 year and fired with 1 year of severance deal.

Maybe NU should hire it's own assistant coaches and offer the HC position to a high school coach who has a record of success, but doesn't yet have the connections in the college football world to hire assistants on his own.

At least our players would have continuity with their position coach and the HC could serve as the PR guy and practice and gameday manager.

What a sad state of affairs... 😐

Carter statement and new verbal got on game day. Also, expecting a vote of confidence statement by Trev this week, and expect to see Frost out on the road recruiting in this bye week.
He pretty much insinuated the opposite a few days ago. I would take everything administrators say with a grain of salt. When it comes to recruiting coaches continue to recruit up until they are fired. Frost out on the recruiting trail means nothing.

Good luck finding a coach who would come to this unless you offer them 2 year contracts. So if it fails again next year that’s even more dead money
It's an easy bet that any new assistant with decent credentials would get a two year contract. I would think that would be attractive to coaches-- the idea that, worst case scenario, the whole staff gets fired but you get a one year paid vacation the following year.

Beckton is the only coach that should survive. Held and Austin are the 1st guys out the door if I have a choice.

Not all signs point to Frost being back. If there is no announcement today, the 72 hours will have passed.

The last thing you want is a voe of confidence. Those always end up in firings 90% of the time.

QB coach first out the door for me. As a so called QB guru he's done nothing. 4 year starter that hasn't gotten any better on the field and continues to make the same mistakes over and over again.

Hasn't developed any depth on the bench. We keep hearing that am is the best we have. That's a huge problem. Either doing a horrible job recruiting or developing. Either one is a problem

unless trev puts in quality overtime to get gruden, frost will coach the qb's and thats gives us room for a special teams coach. the oline coach is on shaky ground so he's gonna need to take away alot of polynesian recruits from byu on the oline to makeup for it.

The time has passed. Frost had a great opportunity for a reset and the ability to hire new quality assistants last year, but he said no. Can’t get many to jump on a sinking ship now.

If Frost is retained, this will be the most laughable example of blatant politicking in recent memory. AD would rather circle the drain to last place in the conference with a good ole Nebraska boy than have a chance at success with an outsider.

Surely we do not need the likes of Gruden.

Harry Potter and Lubick need to be canned as well. That's why it's just ridiculous holding on to a 3 and 9 or 4 and 8 coach in year four. But hey.....Ohio State only beat us by 9 points so hip hip hooray!

Does anyone actually trust "worse than Riley" to make assistant coaching hires at this point? He already had a chance to hire an oc in 2019. Theyve been worse than they were under walters. Frosts identity as an offensive coach simply doesn't work in the big ten as evidenced by the failures inside the 20. When there is room between the 20s it does ok. After that, it's a failure. That, and I don't trust him to identify and recruit a qb either.

First order of business…ABSOLUTELY NEED A SPECIAL TEAMS COACH!! Beyond Pathetic in four years!!

Next we need a new Offensive Line coach because ours is Pee Wee league level. Pathetic in four years!!

SF can coach QBs. Let that kooky QB coach go.

Top dollar for a legitimate OC that calls plays. We just have a guy in name only. Not sure what is being coordinated?

Probably need a new Running Backs coach also because besides QB, that position has underachieved big time.

I’d leave Defense alone.

Exactly! These are the things that absolutely would need to happen if Frost is retained. I just don't see it though.

Can't even believe I'm contemplating this, but Austin, Verduzco and Held at minimum need to go. Probably Lubbick too. If there are no other good outside options, I'd take Ron Brown as RB's coach and Barney Cotton as OL coach or try to get Garrison back. A member from the 90's pipeline would be acceptable too even if they don't have a strong coaching background. We need to get the best special teams coach possible given SF is entirely incompetent in this area. Anything less than this, and I'm pretty much tuned out for next year if we decide to keep Frost.

The only thing that could get people back on board would be a big hire like Tom Herman as OC and brining a QB like Myles Brennan from the portal. Would also need to get someone like Sean Snyder to come save the Special Teams.

I would be all for this, last season. All of that was identified as a problem by many people including myself, but not acted upon by Frost. Those that want to act like we should try this now and therefore give Frost more time, I say no. He should be punished for not having the stones for doing what was needed WHEN it was needed.

Top dollar for the offensive line coach as we’ve seen the offense struggles with a bad line

What if I told you that the only changes that would be made is a new offensive line coach and a new special teams analyst, not a coach but analyst.

I think in the spirit of the debate we were talking offensive asst coaches. Defense should be safe
Yes Beckton is doing a phenomenal job recruiting, coaching and DEVELOPING!

The rest of the offense staff including the dude making 5 mill a year to win 3-4 games cam kick rocks!

I'll laugh when Frost is retained, and then Chinander and Fisher flee this sinking ship for another job

I'll laugh even harder when Frost fires Austin and replaces him with Barney Cotton 😄

Tuioti and Fisher also...
I think the entire defensive staff survives. Dawson may be the only one that is iffy. Can Ruud coach both ILB and OLB, or are they too different.

Or can Chins also double as an OLB coach. If we think Frost can double as a QB coach, and Lubick has WRs, why cant Chins man a group.
