This thread seems more conspiratorial so I’ll post this here. I have seen some wild accusations from people I follow that have some very interesting takes on this whole thing. Ian Carroll seems to think Charlie spoke out too aggressively against Israel and their influence over our politics and I kinda dismissed it. Then I woke up today and saw this on X.

Dave Portnoy has a pretty strong opinion and sentiment about Israel. You could argue that he’s much more concerned about people badmouthing Jews and Israel than most anything. I just thought it was interesting considering Dave’s history on this topic and the events that just took place. If true, he fired a guy for simply being empathetic, that tells you a lot about Portnoy and that company.

The reality is there are no shortage of people who thought the world would be a better place without Kirk. I don’t agree with them because no matter how disgusting I find his rhetoric, I cherish our right to free speech.

But it’s also very bad business for anyone to publicly comment on his murder. Kirk offended too many people. If you want to make a statement, just say that violence is never the answer.

Just about 5 min before posting this in this thread you posted in the fired professor thread that you had never listened to Kirk.

Just sayin....

Did you read what the guy posted. He says he posted something along the lines of prayers for Charlie Kirk’s family. You think he should be fired for that.
And rhetoric? Yall been calling everyone that doesn’t agree with you Nazis for a decade. That’s a dumbasz comment. Even from you.

Let me expound on this. I think they’re are a ton of people on this planet that if they were gone the world would be infinitely better. I don’t call them Nazis and hope and pray for their death. That’s a leftist ideal.

I knew immediately who it was when I saw it. Wild stuff if any validity to it.
I think the guy from the video debating is someone else that looks a lot like him. But I do think it's the Skye Valadez kid that was pictured in those other pictures that might be the guy they have in custody.

What’s your point? I have never listened to Kirk. That doesn’t mean that in the last 24 hours i haven’t read any of the statements he has made.

No point. Just making an observation.

if you take minute to see some of his interactions on college campuses it might impact your opinon. Probably not, but maybe.

Can someone translate half of those, I guess I don't know kid lingo.
Some of them are obscure memes.
Bella Ciao is an italian anti-fascist song.
Three down arrows is anti-fascist symbol, though that may just be a reference to something else.

Apologies for my post on a different thread. So much misinformation out there.

So it does seem all the "Trans" stuff that many on here ran with (and WSJ ended up retracting, well after damage was done) wasn't on there at all. It was all anti-fascist stuff.

So, first off, killing someone is ridiculous period. Full stop.

Second, an anti-fascist killing someone is straight up not logical. Every fascist takeover thrives on martyr's, tragedies they can use to increase their power with claims of for safety, etc. I know the right claims that is what the left did during covid. Used a national emergency to try to gain more power, etc. So now an anti-fascist kills someone on the right, and thinks what, they're going to gain less power and be less fascist or authoritarian because of it?

Mental illness and radicalization is such a problem.

Personally, I hate the blame game regardless. People seem to be so quick to try to act like their "team" doesn't have crazies, its all the other. Literally every ideology has crazy people on it. Seems every time someone is killed that is a major news story, one side is quick to claim "victory" by saying its clearly the XYZ's and the other side has to try to find some connection to try to defend their "team" instead of just saying "thats fvcked up, they don't represent me and my values. " Happened in Minnesota, happened with Trump's assassination attempts, and every other major shooting. There are messed up people in the world, social media leads to radicalization and people get broken.

Tweet not coming up on my work computer, but while I wouldn't be surprised Nick's group would be sort of childish, etc with meme's and trolling, not sure they would be anti-fascist (unless it was pre-planned blame game, etc)

One of the worst parts about all this is everything I've seen of his parents and they seem likely genuinely decent people.
Can't agree more with your last point.

Yeah. That's got to be a worst nightmare for any parent. It's also a 22 year old kid, and I don't know about you, but I was an idiot who thought I knew everything at that age. Multiple lives ended on that day

Just awful all around.

Are we going to get some retractions from the many folks on this board who jumped to conclusions and said he was trans or radical liberal? Honestly don’t care, just highlighting as I hope they refrain from jumping to conclusions next time.

What happens to someone to go from wearing a Trump costume less than a year ago to murdering one of the conservative movement’s largest voices? It’s senseless. Makes me sick. Completely avoidable.

The arrows thing is a video game reference to Helldivers 2. Seems like he’s a hyper online 4chan/Fuentes guy
With all due respect NF is very anti-Israel and Kirk was seemingly beginning to lean that way. In other words I would consider them allies. Could be wrong here, just my opinion.

Right, I knew they didn't like Kirk. Just saying the phrases themselves don't match the Groypers.
from what i'm reading they are phrases that are pretty commonly shared in those circles. stupid video game memes like the "Hey Fascist! Catch!" line with the arrows.

Got you. Was what I meant earlier that the groypers do seem like meme'rs and trollers, so that tracks. Just not necessarily anti-fascist in the true sense I don't think.
