You're changing your position as you go.

Nope. Feel free to peruse my stance. It’s pretty straight forward

Pay players
Signed contract
Fulfill contract
Move on to future employment
If you skip a crap bowl..,understood
Big game? Nope unless you want to reimburse your “pay” that year...unless a MAJOR outside event (death/illness) occurs.

All signed voluntarily by both parties. Either side can say no. Nobody being held at gunpoint.

Hopefully you don’t have anymore questions.

To my knowledge no one has ever sat out for a playoff game, and if one did the school could simply dismiss him from the team and his scholarship would then be revoked...which doesnt really matter because that athlete is essentially quiting and turning pro.

But you are arguing for a punishment in a system that does not exist. You can make the argument that it should (and I would agree), but right now it doesn't. They can not be punished financially.

Of course it’s hypothetical. It’s been the whole time. What I’m saying is that if I was a major college program right now I would prepare myself for the fact that the best player on your team might decide they don’t want to play in the college football championship game.

Waiting for that outcome is stupidity.

Make sure you include "crap bowl" and "big game" in the language, we dont want this to be open to interpretation.

Well right now there isnt much they can do for that.

if Will Grier and offensive tackle Yodny Cajuste are projected as late first round picks. Would rather see a team than a bunch of folks hoping to cash in off the investment made in their Free Education by hard working citizens of WV.

Yeah you put me in mind of the kind of person who puts your wants over someone elses..

I don't think those 2 owe you ****. Just saying

Rootmaster has a point and I agree with a lot of what he says.

My take on this is that players who flake out of bowl games should not be allowed to use facilities after that selfish, ***** boy, scum bag decision. They should be done and back home with mommy. Let Conjuste go train in Northwest Miami, aka the blue wall. Conjuste will never be a first round pick. Hes totally overatted and will be exposed over the next couple months.

Luckily for him, you don't get to decide if/when he gets drafted.

Will Grier already graduated so no one in WV is paying for his education.

I believe Cajuste is a fifth year senior as well.
Not 100% sure on him.

Ultimately I believe both players have repaid their debt to the state.

But not to their tram mates.

Schools decide whether to play a player in a game.
Why don't players have the freedom to decide whether to risk injury in bowl or pursue an NFL career.
Grier has more than fulfilled his obligation to WVU. I would love to see Grier and Sills light up the Syracuse defense. But this America. We all have freedom of choice in employment opportunities.

Because they are wussies IMO. When will freshman and juniors start sitting out because they don't want to risk injury and their future the following year?
