Was just thinking the same thing. They've peaked, nothing more to accomplish, nothing more to gain.

I think Towns and WCS "have to leave" in the sense Cal will strongly advise them to leave/kick their butts to the top of the lottery where they belong. Obviously its not like Cal or anything else is making them leave, but those two I think need to go based on opportunity. Lyles, Booker, Johnson, Twins all could return and improve draft stock.

I like your optimistic outlook. But no.

Booker is 50/50 right now. His 3-point % just continues to regress. Now its at 40%, which is still good, but trending downward. If his struggles continue and it goes below 40%, he's very likely to come back.

Twins are in a weird spot. Andrew's stock will never reach 1st round levels. He's projected as a mid-2nd right now, and should leave. Aaron stock has gotten worse & isn't listed on many mocks anymore. He does enough to become a early 2nd round pick, but he needs another year to iron out the 3-point stroke.

Ulis will be the starter next season. Briscoe will likely be at the 2. Theres so many rumors surrounding Newman its hard to pinpoint wheres he's headed.

Unless the twins want to play over seas, they HAVE to come back. I wish they were going to be drafted higher but Andrew is the o my one projected in second round. Seriously, where are they going to go??

Gone: Towns, WCS and Lyles are gone for sure. Twins seemingly are leaving as well.

Hard to call: Dakari wants to go (I think this is why so much push for Zimmerman) but he really can't with the year he's had.. Booker is looking more like a kid that comes back as well. Poythress wanted to be gone with injury de-rails all of that.

What I'd expect:

PG: Ullis/Briscoe
SG: Newman/Matthews/Hawkins/Briscoe plays some here as well.
SF: Booker/Poythress/Matthew/Newman plays here when we go 2 PG sets.
PF: Lee/Poythress/Skai/Willis
C: Dakari/Skai/Zimmerman

I think there is one more forward in the mix that may be waiting to see what shakes out on UK's roster before committing.
Why is Lyles gone for sure?

I figured if I was him, I'd like to come back another year and play my actual position (PF) and improve my draft stock from late lotto to top 8.

Because the difference over a rookie contract between #14 and #8 is about $5 million dollars.

So, if anything, I think Lyles is staying if he's smart.

That's what most fans dont understand. You think because you're slotted somewhere in the #12-15 range, it makes sense to go pro after your freshman year when you can come back and make twice as much money by improving your draft stock 8 places? I don't.
