I’ve read countless times on this board that Miller is a bust in the postseason so I don’t understand why some think we can’t beat Zona.
Because they have to have something to complain about because us getting screwed is their agenda.

Arizona played in a dog crap conference while UK played in the toughest conference in America.

That said, will be tough, assuming both teams win their first game (not a given for either).

To answer the OP .. Nick will for approx 1.5 minutes and he has 3 fouls . then PJ will have 2 by the 10 min mark , and Sacha will have 3 by half .

brings back fond memories of one Mr Rick Pitino with several days to prepare for one Mr Tim Duncan and wake Forest . Man we doubled that guy so quick and were so prepared we made them look stupid . I trust Cal to do something similar .

We need to play Ayton like we did Maten. That was the best defense he said he faced this year. He had 9 points and no double/double and Maten is a beast. He played awesome this year and was always tough to defend. Double team Ayton and deny him the ball. If we were still playing like we were a month ago we wouldn't have a chance but now Sean Miller is worried.

Ideal scenario is Ayton struggles with fouls but more so than that is Alkins decides UK spurning him is reason enough to try to go full 1 man show. He will do that some and he can shoot them out of games big time.

It seems like Trier and Alkins been there 5 years. I thought they were one and done's. Every year at draft time I tell myself "they gone". Nope. They just keep coming back. Geez.

By the way, assuming we beat Davidson, Arizona's biggest problem isn't going to be with scoring. I think they'll score a decent amount, likely in the 70s. The problem is that they can't defend. They're ranked 70th in defense on Kenpom. And that was against some crappy teams in the PAC12.

We don't have shut down anyone but rather slow them down. Arizona is not great defensively so we can exploit that even if Ayton has a monster game.

Let's not worry about Arizona yet. There is a game before that. It is Davidson and if you know anything about sports, you never look past your opponent. No way in hell is Cal and the Team talking about Arizona. They are preparing for Davidson 1st...

Good thing none of us play basketball at UK. We can look ahead all we want with no ramifications.

Our guards > than Arizona’s but post is ua > us, the key could be trier. Need to keep him under control, Knox even sga will probably be guarding him some.

Our bigs will be sitting most of the first half in foul trouble....

Unless the NCAA believes there is more to this $100k/FBI stuff. Wouldn't be surprised if the word gets down to these refs to put Ayton in foul trouble. There are people that believe they already punished some teams that have been mentioned with that case. UL I can see not getting an invite, but USC not getting one when they finished second in the PAC 12 and the 9th place team getting in seems kinda suspicious. Then Arizona getting this potential matchup makes the conspiracy theories start seeming possible.

The NCAA doesn't do us any favors so I see this potential matchup as one where they get to eliminate one of the two for sure and the other possibly in the next game. Then they can have one of their least favorite coaches potentially out and not have a big vacating mess by the other getting very far if the allegations end up true.. Of course this is probably far fetched, but as corrupt as the NCAA is it wouldn't surprise me.

Chicken littles, oh my god. We're f-ing Kentucky, Ayton is a nice player and will get his bit I'm not sure why you guys are so terrified of the dude.

Not terrified. Just remembering back to certain players like...D. Wade, M Cleeves, K Walker and more. Some guys get “their bit” and end seasons. Legit concern but just have to step up take care of business.
