I'm a Reds/Rangers fan. It's been a long summer. I'm a Husker/Raiders fan and it's been a bad start to the fall. Thankfully, I'm also a Bruins/Stars fan so I got that to look forward to. Not sure about the Mavs. Doncic will be fun to watch.

My 5 year old daughter is now showing interest in my teams and enjoys cheering with me, which is fun because because I haven't forced it on her and she's genuinely interested. Huskers and Broncos have 2 wins. Not making it easy for me lol. Might have to stick to hiking and skiing for our bonding time ha ha.

While both teams have turned it around, being a Cubs and Northwestern fan... there were some bad years.

I have been a long time fan of both the Huskers and the Giants. It has been especially rough this year. With all the hype I didn't think it was possible to be worse than last year but yet they are.

I don't know what happened to Eli Manning but it seems he is done. Everything seems to be a 2 yd check down because he feels he has no time. I hope there is a franchise QB in next year's draft because they are on pace to get the first overall pick.

Yes, it sure looks like Eli is done. The Giants organization has a mess on their hands. The commentators noted several times that the players last night looked disinterested. Barkley is awesome, and combined with OBJ and Engram they have the skill players. Some nice pieces on defense with Vernon, Collins, and jackrabbit. But that locker room probably smells bad.

Barkley was a terrible draft pick. Based on his draft slot, he's already the 5th highest paid running back in the NFL creating some cap problems. He's not a work horse back averaging 14 carries a game so far this season. Compare that to Isaiah Crowell undrafted, Kareem Hunt was 3rd round, Matt Brieda Undrafted, running backs do not add to your wins above replacement to spend money against the cap or high draft picks. The Giants had huge needs on defense, Oline issues and an aging Eli. Trading down to the Jets would've been smart. Could've taken Quenton Nelson, Bradley Chubb, or Roquon Smith. They would've then had 3 2nd round picks then (2 of NYJ and 1 of their own) with Darius Guice, Ronald Jones, Kerryon Johnson and Nick Chubb available. Chubb is getting paid 5.3 million less against the cap than Barkley. The RB savings pays for a decent free agent at a different position with a higher WAR.

I echo these thoughts but would add that I think spending so much money on Odell Beckham Jr was also a terrible mistake. He's too big of a drama queen to form the foundation for a successful team. He left for the locker room early last night... came out of it late. Was crying for a PI call late in the game when he was definitely not interfered with. Spending that much on a dramatic WR is a recipe for bad news. You need that money to invest elsewhere on the team. There have been very few instances of a team winning a super bowl while spending huge money on a single WR.

The Giants could have gotten their QB if they just would have picked Todd Gurley 9th in the 2015 draft instead of that horrible excuse for a LT Erik Flowers.

I agree about taking running backs that high with the money that it costs them. At least Barkley is playing like a top 5 back. Is 2nd in rushing and 5th in total receptions. He is on pace for 2200 yards from scrimmage as well so he can be a workhorse back. It might not help them win games as much as a QB but he is the only thing on that offense worth watching.

They took a gamble that Eli had a few years left and that backfired on them. All I can hope for now is that they don't struggle to find a decent QB for the next 5 years and the prime years of OBJ/Engram/Barkley are wasted.

I might be able to top it. Husker fan from Nebraska and have a Masters from Arkansas, so a Razorback supporter as well 1-10 so far this fine season, along with a college world series baseball collapse. Also a Dallas Cowboys fan. Combined football record of 3-13. My weekends have never been so open........

Huskers-Raiders fan here, checking in. Football sucks this year. Oh, and the St. louis Cardinals completely choked over the final 10 days of the regular season. Damnit.

When I watch the Raiders it looks like I'm rewatching the Husker game, but without the scoring.

Let me add, you couldn't pay me enough to go to Creighton. (Too soon, Jayskers? Hope nothing comes of that allegation against the Bluebirds.)
