Man, the late 60's is over a half century ago. It's Ok, not everything has to be about Peace and Love."Other" = none.
Hating sports teams is tribal and I dont gravitate that way.

Think they’d get more votes if we were back in the big east - doesn’t feel like a rival anymore as it’s been so long since we played them regularlySyracuse but PSU is close
I don’t know if a GS is a Charlatan as they knowingly do what they do to deceive for personal gain. I don’t think GS is knowingly deceiving. I think he truly believes he’s a great coach when results say otherwise .In my mind, I decouple Rutgers football and basketball. Hating Rutgers hoops feels like my job, something I'm duty-bound to. But I really like Pikiell; always have. And I can't root against him now considering his battle. So I'll figure that out this season.
I see virtually no relationship between Rutgers football and basketball. The success of one is irrelevant to the other, so I am largely indifferent to football. That's not to say I'm not interested, as I obviously am, and with my niece at Rutgers now, I considered a much lighter view of the program this year. But I can't stand the coach, a charlatan of the highest order, and given that I always loved to play armchair AD, I have been watching this train wreck unfold with great interest. It's not fandom or hate; it's just a reality TV show to me (which, ironically, I never watch).
After moving to Bucks County in 2010, I wanted to embrace Penn State, but that was a tough time to take on that assignment given what was about to blow there. And once I got involved with Temple as a grad student, that idea was shot to hell with no turning back. So even though I have no true active rivalry with them, I feel something like many of you do about them. Just not as intense.
Michigan fans are complete pricks. The alums are complete snobs who think they graduated from an Ivy Lite like Duke or NW and the Walmart fans are complete pieces of ****.I voted PSU but Mich is a close second. Most arrogant fans outside of ND
Rutgers alums only care about South Orange Community College one day a year. Other than that they are irrelevant to us.Surprised hating Seton Hall hoops only got 1 vote. Maybe the rivalry means more to the players? Or is that this is the Football thread?
Maybe he is showing signs of early senility.I don’t know if a GS is a Charlatan as they knowingly do what they do to deceive for personal gain. I don’t think GS is knowingly deceiving. I think he truly believes he’s a great coach when results say otherwise .
I'm mildly disappointed.Surprised hating Seton Hall hoops only got 1 vote. Maybe the rivalry means more to the players? Or is that this is the Football thread?
That's fair and certainly possible. Or it could be that he knows he's got nothing to give but is too proud or vain to bring it to an end on his own. Or he could just absolutely love the paycheck and isn't surrendering it until he's forced to. In any case, he can't really think he's good at this anymore, can he?I don’t know if a GS is a Charlatan as they knowingly do what they do to deceive for personal gain. Surprised hating Seton Hall hoops only got 1 vote. Maybe the rivalry means more to the players? Or is that this is the Football thread?
Exactly. That’s why I put that option there. I almost voted for it but had to go with anything Penn StWith the way Rutgers Football and Basketball have performed since 1976, not sure how that option is not running away with it. I can't even hate the other programs because we can't get out of our own way.
I actually think he’s be best at coaching in a league where every team has the exact same talent. Facilities, fanbase, etc. I do think he gets kids to play hard and scandal free . So I think they would be his best role - his teams in that league would be generally above average but Never eliteThat's fair and certainly possible. Or it could be that he knows he's got nothing to give but is too proud or vain to bring it to an end on his own. The Seton Hall basketball rivalry is nowhere near what it once was. The biggest change is the league shift. We would play them twice a year and sometimes three in the BE tournament. When recruiting still mattered, we competed for many of the same local players. As a basketball fan, you definitely still want to beat them, but it's not as intense anymore. This is a football board. Perhaps the results would be different on the Men's Basketball Forum
But Jim Brown was good.Penn State is the answer. But...I also loathe Syracuse - perhaps no fanbase in college sports with more misplaced arrogance.
This is true…RU is not even a fleeting thought to state Penn fans. We have beaten them twice in history. The last time in 1988…the RU state Penn fan rivalry exists only in the minds of RU fans and it will be that way for decades to come.Funny thing about this poll is 53% votes for anything Penn state but if I polled PSU fans maybe 5% would say anything RU. They don’t hate us as they hardly recognize we exist.
And what’s strange about PSU, is they ga e no football rival. Maybe Pitt but Pitt sees WVu as their rival or at least they did
