White helmets again on Saturday

With maroon jerseys and white pants. Cue the uniform complainers.

Might be in the minority but I actually like the look a lot with these particular jerseys and helmets. But the only other two times we’ve worn them were the 2015 Egg Bowl and last year’s LSU game, so... hopefully this turns out a lot better than those two games.

Listen I like JoMo but the white helmets are gonna land him in the Croom Room pretty quickly if he keeps that up.

Burn those nasty things and one of you who knows him tell him that’s a Croom thing.

I loathed the white helmets in the past, but the all white road look is actually pretty dope. That said, home game, we dictate uniforms, therefore ****** decision

Agreed. If we show up in the pink-white helmets with the maroon stripe and old banner logo I will lead the mutiny. The current iteration of white helmet actually looks sharp.

Did white helmet complainers ever consider that maybe the players like that **** and ask to wear it? These look good anyway. Nothing like the ones with the damn maroon stripe down the middle.

I really don’t like the white helmets. Ever. But the only thing that could land Moorhead in a Croom Room is a lot of losses. A whole lot of losses.

“wHIte HeLMeTS aRe a CrOoM tHiNG” people are the worst. We wore white helmets long before croom got here. Our colors are maroon and white. White looks good. It’s going to be okay I promise.

There were real life human beings during the Croom era who thought the white helmets were the reason we were terrible, disregarding the fact that we had a JUCO caliber roster, poor coaching, and we wore maroon helmets in Jackie’s last three years and were equally awful.

I get that our fans still have PTSD from the 2000’s, but these are not the same helmets and actually look sharp.

Again, ima maroon helmet kinda guy, save your silver stripe...but all white is pretty fresh...fwiw, I graduated in 2005, croom prime, and this looks nothing like that pile of garbage

It may just be a coincidence, but I've noticed that we tend to wear white helmets when our opponents have a dark helmet and we never wear white when the other team has white.

Uniform thread ..... got to get in on this....

1. Anyone that says “we can wear pink.... blah blah... as long as we win”. I call ********.

2. Penn State has the worst uniforms in football. They look like the guards from the original Longest Yard.

3. Maroon helmets please. However! If we are wearing the white to help the QB pick up our guys faster in the passing game, I can buy into that. Alabama and Arkansas ... any opponents with dark helmets.... I like wearing the contrasting helmet.

The players on the leadership commitee are the ones that generally select the unis unless we have a special uni for that week

So many people were just burned by Croom's SWAC uniforms. And they were beyond horrific. We can all agree on that. That old script M-State was horrific too.

Beyond that, our uniforms have never really been that terrible, at least bad enough to ***** about it. I didn't particularly like the shoulder pad stripe in the 2012-2013 era, but they weren't THAT bad.

Nothing makes me cringe more than to hear jomo constantly talk about Penn State and Coach Franklin. It is literally like Croom 2.0 and his infatuation with Alabama and Coach Bryant. I think that is why I liked Mullen so much....yes, his 1st year out of Florida he said some stupid things like, "out of respect to Coach Myer we are not gonna be going after the players currently committed to Florida". Once he got over that he took ownership of Mississippi State. Eventually I was a "Mississippi State guy" to be our coach. One that holds our University in the regard that JoMo holds Penn St and Croom held Alabama. No I don't want to settle for a guy like Coach Luke that loves our University but is not capable of winning as a head coach.

Mullen shopped himself nearly every fall starting in 2010. Then left us for Florida.

Croom definitely talked about Bama and was an "Alabama Guy". Maybe I haven't been listening enough, but I don't hear JoMo talk about Franklin or even Penn State that much. He's not really a Penn State guy, he only coached there for 2-3 years and didn't attend school there.

I don't think anyone thought we lost because of the helmets. They are just representative of a really bad time. The flying 'M' brings back memories of a certain era, as does the interlocking MSU, and Walking Bully. The white helmets are no different, but for the wrong reasons. I can sympathize with the hatred.

The current iteration should not be linked to that. They look much different and we've actually had some success in them before.

That’s actually pretty accurate. We’ve had tons of color v color and color vs white helmet matchups, but never white vs white in seasons where white helmets weren’t our only option.

For the record, according to Moorhead a week or two ago, we have a team leadership council of guys from each class who meet every week and pick that week's uniform, among other things.

the all white road look is great. i prefer maroon helmets at home, but also don't care since the players choose the unis.

I don't know if you mean cooler - colder or cooler - more stylish. Personally I think both but I definitely vote for white for the colder factor. Light reflects, dark absorbs. Already gonna be 100 and something on the field for the boys, I think we should take any opportunity to provide relief from heat effects.

This will probably get me flamed but I have often wished our baseball team could have some white caps for hot summer games.

I do like that 2012 version of white helmet with the Bulldog head logo Better than the the M-State logo.

I guess that's why we'll never have a traditional uniform like Alabama, Auburn, Georgia and some of the big name schools.
