What are you guys drinking to get us through these dark times of no baseball? I've been so excited for baseball since the Tennessee game last fall, then had my excitement crushed, just curious how what you guys are drinking or doing to kill time. BTW I've become very found of Wild Turkey Rye.

Newest purchase was Old Ezra 7 year. But my everyday lately has been the Evan Williams single barrel and Old Grandad Bonded.

Self-medicating with the same stuff as always. Tequila. Straight out of a shot glass. It’s quick and to-the-point. Don’t need no chasers. Nice subtle burn going down with a great feeling of warmth immediately following. I’m drinking the Josè Cuervo Blue Agavè right now-drank the last of the Patroń last night. Good luck everyone...

Not even any salt on the rim? You're a brave man.

Bourbon - I'm on Knob Creek Single Barrel Reserve and Russell Reserve 10 year right now. Really digging the Knob Creek. The Russell Reserve is solid, though some nights it comes off as fairly nondescript for the price.

Scotch - Auchentoshan American Oak and 12 year single malts are what I'm working on at the moment. American Oak got me into scotch and the 12 year is a solid alternative to Macallan if you're looking for something different that's still sherried.

Irish - Opened a bottle of Bushmills 10 year single malt last night. Just a damn good Irish whiskey in the $35 - $40 range.

Gin and Tonic...for the Quinine benefit.

Look up Cinchona bark and how it was made into Quinine, and then how Hydro Chloroquine was made from Quinine.

90 proof George Dickel. The good stuff (Basil Hayden's) is all gone.

One of my daughters came home last Friday with a backseat full. She said if we are going to be quarantined then she's prepared. She's got beer, the wife has wine and I've got Woodford and Angel's Envy.

I'm drinking Stolen Whiskey right now. Good stuff. A friend got it for me for Christmas.

I'm still drinking really good stuff I got for Christmas. I have decided when that is gone, I'm going into my likker locker and drag out the "scraps" of stuff that has been in their for years. Might be fun.

Inspired by this thread and the lockdown that kicks in tonight and went and loaded up on Larceny. We started isolating on the 12th and I have almost gone through 3-750ml bottles since and finished off my rye. So I grabbed 3 handles if Larceny and about 6 bottles of wine for the Mrs. After ringing me up the clerk informed me that Liquor stores have been seemed critical and will remain open... So that's good news.

Try the newest Larceny Barrel Proof release. It’s fantastic.

Don't rub it in...

We have a rewards system at my liquor store for allocated stuff... A buddy called and me and said they had it, he didn't have enough points, but I do. I broke out of the house for the first time in a few days today to load up on booze and the prize was the Larceny Barrel Proof and someone snagged it within 30 minutes.

I just happened to walk in to the store the day they unloaded a box. I had been looking for it for a while. The added proof helps cut down on some of the sweetness of the original to me. I hope you can find a bottle.

Has anyone tried the High West "Yippee Ki Yay" it's at my local package store, and it has great reviews, but it's well over 100 dollars.

George Dickel 12. I've had much more expensive but not many much better. Taste is very subjective. Also added Elijah Craig Small Batch. Excellent.

Whiskey rotation lately has been:

1.) Whistle Pig Boss Hog
2.) Whistle Pig 12 yr Rye
3.) Kentucky Owl 11 year

Mixed in with plenty of local Texas sour beers, ice cold miller lite, Montucky Cold Snack Tall boys, and some Rose' that pairs well with the spring weather we're having...

I've tried the Poor Man's Pappy recipe and then when Weller Antique and Weller 12 got so hard to find, I tried the Poorer Main's Pappy recipe. They were both delicious but I have only had 2 oz of Pappy in my life so I couldn't really tell you how close they were to the real thing.

My favorite for every day is Buffalo Trace. Eagle Rare is a bargain for what you are getting but has gotten harder to find. The Elijah Craig Barrel Proof is the smoothest 133 proof out there. It will get you in trouble.

The Hunstville-based Irons One whiskey has been my go-to bottle. I've already decided that I'm mixing the Weller Poor Man's Pappy when this is over. Since we're coming out of the lockdown in phases, I may have to drink it several times.
