It’s really just that simple. He’s unknown, he’s risky, he has no leverage. He would have to give incentive to take the risk. Other teams will pay. He has NO PATHWAY unless he gets abused by agents. It’s over and it’s been over.

apparently you’re right doesn’t seem many understand it. Mark Pope is a worse hire than Gillispie. Really, way worse. Jeff Ford would have been a much better hire. He might have actually done somewhat decent here (relative to Mark). Mark is a terrible, awful, putrid hire. He checks no boxes at all.

It’s a Mitch Barnhart special. How anyone continues to be this stupid I don’t know. And it is stupid.
You couldn't be more right. If we could fire Pope tonight I believe we could actually field an above average team next year even after missing all the players we have already missed. We have the money but this Coach is a pariah to kids.

Exactly. I can’t begin to imagine what those highlights meant to Stokes. Probably had goosebumps. This is the weird type of **** that Mark has to stop doing. He needs to hire a person who literally just stops him from doing everything he wants to do.
Nope, they hired a yes men video guy, who has literally done nothing of substance yet.

A real admin would have had him fired when the clock struck 0:00 against Iowa St. Instead we let assistants leave and get ready for a lame duck year at the winningest program in history.

Prove me wrong Mark, but you won't.
The new AD will fire his *** next year. Barnhart will not have the juice to protect the dork who looks like a cancer patient in the zombie movie 28 Days Later,

If this is true they should fire him for cause.

In reality, this is MITCH's fault. He's the root cause. Pope should have never been hired.

Imagine if we had Pearl. He would have locked them down by now.

The next AD is going to literally make us Indiana or not.
Turn into a football school? Reminds of a story about a Cadillac and cigarette lighter 🙄

The sad part of this is, by the end of next season. We will be very lucky if we are the winningest program. It looks like a real possiblity that Kansas might over take us.

Well in all fairness we have no real idea that Wright was ready to sign when he arrived. Free trip to Lexington for some dining and to check out our old, decrepit practice facility, then listening to Dope yap about whatever on earth he yaps about to recruits, I'd be surprised if he was ready and then bailed. He was never coming here.
The Rupp Locker room having the 2012 championship floor from New Orleans is super stale. Not much good has come to the program since then. Time to at least renovate it.

That seems a good spot for him.
I think the kid can be a good role player at a lot of schools. But I’m skeptical that he can start and be any more than a role player anywhere. Dayton has had some pretty good teams lately. No expert, but I wouldn’t think they see him as a starter.
