Are we sure it will be over after next season? This isn't the same UK I grew up loving. I have belief that Pope could go 9-16 no COVID and still keep his job.

These guys in charge of UK are sucking up the money. They could care less if we suck in sports. Rupp will still be packed. People will still be saying give him another chance. I'm actually at a loss for words at what's happening to UK.

All time low for me. And it's not close. And was I really debating the other day about how Pope is a smidge better than BCG?? Yea gtfo ..Billy G was never this bad!!!

The nostalgia hire has warped everyone's minds. They just see him getting off the bus with the trophy. They don't see the losses, worst recruiter all time at UK, the blowout losses, and the poor effort. They just see the 1996 title over and over. And him signing balls and cards at Rupp for kids.

And here I thought Pope cleaned house to make room for UK level talents… Nah, they all left on their own because the dude is almost impossible to play for.

All you “Pope needs a 3rd season” folks, are going to get your wish! I hope you were expecting 14-15+ losses as well!🤣

Mitch is gone. Boosters will get a hire done. Pearl was almost hired last cycle, boosters wanted it. Mitch said no and got his boy in the seat.

Awesome to have 8 national championships. But the motha effin assignment is to win another one. Not celebrate what happened 30 years ago. I don't think it was possible to make a worse hire.

You could literally take a student out of UK and he would recruit better than Pope. Can we get a interview from some players and targets we missed on and ask them what about Pope is so weird?

Does he talk to recruits about religion or something? Like you can be odd and dorky and still get some recruits when you have 22 million. This guy is so strange he can't hand players money to play for him.

I was talking about the players who left! Hart and Brooks left on their own as well! Pope didn’t fire anyone, and he didn’t tell any of those players to leave as well!

Mark Fox will be the last person he ever sends packing! If it weren’t for Fox, Pope would never have set his family up financially the way he has.

Dude is beta as beta can get! I just hope somehow, someway, UK MBB will recover from this failed experiment that doesn’t seem to ever end!

I’ve just been taking notes and watching all the gaslit running back to be slapped over and over. Landing stokes wouldn’t matter anyway, it just means we got ripped off. Mark has NO LEVERAGE this is a leverage and risk business. Thinking mark can make it here shows how clueless people can be to how this stuff actually works.

Mark was finished at UK by the beginning of year 2. His missteps in recruiting cannot be made up for.

Feels like we're the only ones who understand how this works. You can't get abused in recruiting by agents and players. And have no reputation to players, and coach at UK.

It’s really just that simple. He’s unknown, he’s risky, he has no leverage. He would have to give incentive to take the risk. Other teams will pay. He has NO PATHWAY unless he gets abused by agents. It’s over and it’s been over.

apparently you’re right doesn’t seem many understand it. Mark Pope is a worse hire than Gillispie. Really, way worse. Jeff Ford would have been a much better hire. He might have actually done somewhat decent here (relative to Mark). Mark is a terrible, awful, putrid hire. He checks no boxes at all.

It’s a Mitch Barnhart special. How anyone continues to be this stupid I don’t know. And it is stupid.

I read this as the info he started getting about Rob over the last 24 hours was trending more BYU. At the time of his report, Rob had been on campus less than 24 hours.

It seems much more likely to me that the visit spurred BYU to up their offer as they expected Rob to sign today. Pope might suck as a recruiter, no one’s debating that. News like this doesn’t spread from the kid while still on his visit. It comes from his agent.

People can believe Pope has struggles recruiting and still analyze everything honestly.

I’m not emotionally tied to these kids. I just want kids in certain tiers of ability. PG still has those guys Rob or not. People should be more concerned at PF than PG if you ask me

And then y'all think Pope is going to miss all his targets then get a bunch of lower level players and Stokes is going to want to join the circus? Hell no. He's in college for a few months. I'm sure he will want to have a chance at winning a championship.

I'm as Kentucky as it gets but this is ridiculous. And once again what's up with all the Corny assss Kentucky insiders and ppl always saying stuff like they know something just to get the fans to believe something when in actuality we are still in a terrible position.


Had plenty of players leave for the portal and already commit to schools. Had other teams land studs. We haven't even landed a role player. We haven't even landed a 8th man.

Our best returner isn't even a guarantee because we all know the NBA draft isnt about who's ready but who has the most potential. Moreno might get drafted even if unlikely. To all the people saying don't complain well you got a right to say whatever I reckon but I'm going to complain. I tried to be positive but the UK goober media set us all up with lies again .


I'm seriously thinking I should get into that stuff because these guys get paid good money to be bennys just like us. Motha effas don't know jack. But ik UK is sorry af.

Last year I said we would lose 15 games. We lost 14. It's just obvious. I'm sick of pretending like this **** is normal.

cut ties while portal is still open. Even give Mo the job for a year like someone said. He has time to land some players from the portal. I bet if Pope was gone Tyran would have committed already.
