What? Are you just pulling random names out of your ***? Jurgens and Betts aren't going anywhere.

Am, Jurgens, Betts, Scott, Brown Will be 100% gone at seasons end. Don’t hate me.
if this is Trev's call, then I agree with you on AM. Not sure Jurgens would leave. Scott makes sense and Smothers is possible too.

I posted in another thread that it seems the big decisions are being made by TA now, not Scott. So if that is what ends up happening with AM, then I believe 100% that is coming from the AD.

It would be better for AM and Nebraska if he played somewhere else next season. Beyond that, hopefully we get someone good at OC that can re-recruit the players you listed. The level of success for players that enter the portal is not high, not sure why guys are always convinced that the grass is greener somewhere else. Cam might evaluate his draft position, but I would think he'd like to leave Nebraska with one winning season under his belt.

Every year people claim lots of players will leave. In the end some do, but most don't. Betts doesn't make any sense but I don't know if there is something going on behind the scenes.

If decisions are made like this from a guy who has only cut football programs and never coached one we are in big trouble

Trev has always been a high acheiver. I believe he is making the best decisions possible for the University. It isn't always clear what his angle/approach is, but he plays chess, not checkers.

I do think his suggestions earlier in the year resulted in changes that manifest as really close games, so that improvement I attribute to him.

Going forward with the offense and how that looks, I believe he has some say in those things.. more than others might think, and so yes, that gives me hope that maybe this can work out with Scott as the head coach still. If not, I believe Trev will be able to solve the next step of that puzzle if it is needed.

I don't see Jurgens as anything higher than a day three pick in the draft. I think he comes back. Betts could pretty easily transfer. And I've figured for a while now that if Martinez plays another season of college ball, it would be at another school-- probably a mutual decision for both sides. Frost is looking at the transfer portal and juco for his next starting QB.

Nothing would surprise me in terms of transfers from the WR and RB rooms, except maybe Irvin (injury) and Johnson since he's getting most of the carries now and seems to have earned Frost's trust.

Why in the works would Betts go anywhere? He’s a starter here, he’s from here, etc.

I could definitely see Betts going. I hope not tho because he’s a great player and will keep getting better. There’s been rumors about this

Limited eligibility may not allow that. Domann came back for that. Didn’t work out.

That’s you reasoning? If the team you are a big part of doesn’t win enough you quit and go elsewhere?
Happens every day. Players want to win and they get tired of losing. Especially hgh profile recruits that have a lot of options. They already lost their position coaches and Frost could be gone next year. If they can go somewhere and be a part of something successful there are worse things to consider.

You want an example?

I am amazed he made it onto campus considering every rumor I heard about his high school days. The fact he finds a hard time finding the field solidifies what I heard prior. Dude is probably the best receiver we have right now in terms of real talent and making plays in real play. The question is why he can't find the field. The answer I get over and over is his refusal or non-ability to learn a playbook and routes which is totally on par with what I heard about him in high school. He may be one of them kids with a million dollar body and a ten cent brain. I hope I am wrong. I would really love to see this guy kick *** on Sundays and more specifically Saturdays in LIncoln.

I guess we are getting osu's 3rd string qb, so maybe we will let go a player somewhere

Very true. I hope he digs in and gets it done instead of moving on.

Rumor from a credible source. Plus, he's a starter perhaps but he's two years in and his playing time fluctuates wildly. And he's from here but his "peers" (the other best kids out of Omaha) aren't signing here or even taking officials so Omaha isn't much of an advantage to keep kids here these days.

I hope he stays. Great athlete and we need Omaha kids to stay here, develop and get drafted. But I would bet that he leaves.

Not the same. Ewers was never on the roster, hadn’t played 2 full season with a team that didn’t win enough for his liking so he transferred. This guy just switched a non binding commitment.

I am sure there are examples of guys who left schools for the reasons you are saying, but this one isn’t a good example. This is more of an example as to why the multiple 4 star players in the Omaha metro are leaving the state to play because the hometown team isn’t any good.

A player we cannot afford to lose is Jurgens. We need him to stick around and anchor the transition towards acceptable OL play.
We need all the WRs coming back because we need options and depth.

Once the new position coaches are hired and spring ball is finished, that is when any moves will be made. For all we know, the kids may have burned out on the previous coaches and a new infusion of blood will be the key to keeping them. With Frosty working with the o-line, I doubt any of those players leave.

If AM moves on, it could be beneficial for all parties. Makes this staff less reliant one one player and calling plays that the team does well instead of a player doing it well. Addition by subtraction.

I kind of forgot that Jurgens would be draft eligible. I think he could help his stock by coming back but apparently he's drawn some interest from the NFL.

Absolutely, but he could quell rumors by saying he’s coming back, but he’s chosen to remain quiet. He graduated last May and just was part of an interview about his relationship from a KState site this week.
No doubt he's waiting to see who his new coaches would be and for the season to be over. He supposedly has said publicly that he wants to come back. We'll see. I think people wanting him to leave need to be careful what they wish for. He might improve with a different QB coach.
