None of them to me. We can’t judge them on this **** show that Calipari has created. We have no offense. No direction. It’s not their fault they were put in a position to fail.

I think it’s brooks. No explanation for why he isn’t playing and time frame keeps getting moved. He was our only true returning player. The cryptic crap with these guys and why they can’t play had grown old the bottom line though our only returner has given us zero zilch.

That is driving me nucking futs. If he had some sort of cancer or std or something like that sure keep the medical to themselves. If its really a calf issue then just come out and say wtf it is. Nobody is going to be going out there from another team just to attack his calf muscle. I dont want to hear about that HIPPA shiz. We're all day-to-day.

It can't be Sarr. He can't pass it to himself. Mintz, Askew, Boston, and Clarke sit around the top of the key trying to drive to the basket for 25 seconds, if they haven't turned it over already, and then UK is left rushing a shot. Meanwhile, Sarr, who had 17 and against Richmond and went to the free throw line 11 times only has 10 shots in the last two freaking games. That's not Sarr's fault(Hes posting up and trying to get the ball but it rarely comes). I mean he and Jackson are trying to post up. Our guards aren't getting him the ball. How many times have we seen bigs struggle with fouls because they aren't getting the ball(being involved in the offense)

Rumor has it that Brooks isn’t hurt ,it is an academic issue so he can’t play till the end of the semester. That actually makes more sense than what we are hearing now.

Depends on where you mark the “before” comparison. If it’s right before play started then it’s probably Sarr. If it’s when they first hit our radar as a player it’s definitely Clarke. When he first surfaced as a UK target we were told he was this unstoppable force, literally the best player in high school at any age, a next-level shooter with other-wordly handles who was guaranteed to go number one in whatever draft he entered. Now he just “shows flashes”—like any non-Mashburn Pitino era freshman. Tony Delk Lite except without the shooting.

Biggest disappointments in order:
1. Mintz. He's 30% from the field and 30% from 3Pt.
2. Askew. He has played 114 minutes and has 8 assists. Let that stat sink in. He has 13 turnovers. 37% shooter from field and 3 pt. He's not a great on ball defender.
3. Boston. 40% from field, 17% from 3. He's OK...just not great (so far).
4. Clarke. He's got OK stats, but something is missing. His lack of hustle early on that play to start the game was incredible. He seems to be out for his own stats. Talented enough to turn things around.
5. Sarr. He needs more touches but needs to assert himself more. Demand the ball. Develop an alpha male attitude.
6. Allen. Quit playing scared.
7. Ware. Seems limited offensively.
8. Toppin. He's better than I thought he was.
8. Fletcher. He's a little better than I thought he was.
9. Jackson. He's a serious player. Beast on the boards and a rim protector. Huge upside.
10. Brooks. Incomplete.
No one on the team has played well and we have been out coached. That is why we have lost 3 in a row. I hate to think what would have happened if we did not have the top recruiting class on the floor!!

too many to choose from. I never bought that Askew should be the starter once we got Mintz. He struck me as a kid that needed a year or two to get it going, and if he sticks around I think he will.

if Cal really tries to change his philosophy and approach then he’ll convince Askew to stay and mold him into an exceptional veteran pg. I’m glad he reclassed because I think the year he has at UK will be better for his development than if he had stayed in hs. The catch is he has to come back for at least one more season, and I really think he needs two or three depending on how hard he works and how hard the staff is working with the players. Time will tell, but I’m excited about his future in the program.

I’m probably being overly optimistic about him sticking around, but I need something to look forward to with this team, and there’s nothing to look forward this year imo.

IIRC, didn't Cal press the "panic button" after a pre season intrasquad scrimmage where the second team supposedly won? Maybe some of those guys should see the floor?

Tempted to say Boston but:

He’s the only one I saw in HS. Saw him play one full game. (Didn’t even see clips of any of the others)

He looked just OK in that game so I thot maybe it was an off-night. So far he has looked exactly like that one game. (Still a small sample size tho)
