So far, not looking pretty. Induced 2 ground outs (one for a double play) and only threw 10 pitches in the first, but hit 2 of the 3 he has faced.

He looks like he’s in his head. He’s freaking out every ball he throws and trying to place it too much. Just throw the ball

Have to say, this day could help him out a lot. Pitching against a bad hitting team with a umpire with a generous zone. Hope it gives him some confidence to keep this up. First inning was rocky but he’s been getting steadily better

Meanwhile, the EMU pitcher has a No Hitter going through 4 innings. This team is a complete enigma at the plate.

Fitting that on the day Eric has one of his best career outings he got zero run support.

We’ve got to get something going. EMU’s Weis is 3-10 for his career with 6.2 ERA.

This is mostly who we are at this point. We dont make you pay for strike 1 or 2. We hit a ton of groundballs. And we need a little help here and there to jumpstart us

This is the worst approach at the plate I’ve seen from us since JG took over as hitting coach. We are making it way too easy for this guy, and he is not a good pitcher.

Actually embarrassing that this guy is getting so much help from our batters. The reason we were successful yesterday is because their pitchers walked so many they had to throw get me over fastballs and the guys hit them like it was BP.

I will give their guy credit for having excellent location throughout the game. But we’ve definitely had quite a few impatient AB’s.

Our hitting being THIS bad is probably kind of fluky but we are by no means an offensive juggernaut. Going to lean heavily on pitching all year.
