Chit Chat's dad moved from Atlanta to Iowa City.

Both of Addie's parents & both of Ava Heiden's parents have moved to Iowa City (North Liberty, to be exact) as well.

Have any other players' parents?

Addie's brother played basketball at Grinnell College in Iowa, making the move easier for the family.

I'm not aware of any others that have physically moved. Of course Callie's family and Hannah's family are local. Journey's not very far from home either.

I wondered about how far parents have to travel to get to Carver Hawkeye Arena to watch their children play. I started listing driving distances, then realized that Rodriguez and Hays make that impractical, so I went with straight-line distance. The average distance was 690 miles until the move to Iowa by three families, which reduced the average distance to 421 miles.

Haven't noticed her dad I guess but she does have 2 or 3 women that come to the games. All decked out in pink last night for Cancer Awareness. Wish I had pictures..lol. A long pink fur coat and the other had a psychedelic pink outfit. They sure had a good time.

CCW’s 3-ball has been great, but she has had an uneven shooting year in conference play, depending on distance. Of the 56 double figures scorers in BIG play, she is 4th percentage-wise from 3 (33 for 70 - 47.1%), and last percentage-wise from 2 (32.7%). She is also 6th in that group from the line at 91.5%.

Torvik’s site has CCW and Kylie as the 2 worst finishers in the league in conference play. On close 2s, CCW is 3 for 12 (25%) and Kylie is 2 for 13 (15.4%). On far 2s, CCW is also poor in BIG play (14 for 40-35%).

Ball-handling wise Iowa would be lost without CCW.

It should. Layla’s time will come ( I think) but she’s just not ready at this point. I’d rather have Ava give a few easy buckets up on D vs getting into early foul trouble as she’s prone to do. Having her sitting in the 1st quarter and bringing in Layla that early really hurts us. I’d still like to see more minutes for Houston but what can you say.

I definitely would rather see HS sliding into the 5 and JH at the four versus LH playing the 5 at this time. Game seems a bit too fast for her as a freshman IMO.

Fully realize what AH has done, especially recently but think Chit Chat should be in discussion of post season awards. Thank goodness Hawks got her.
