I still think he's persona non grata in the SEC. He may have to go ACC, Big 12 or Pac12. I don't think the B1G would take him either.

Tennessee.

Somewhere like Florida or Oklahoma could be a wildcard if Mullen or Riley make the leap to NFL. But I’d bet a substantial amount of money on Tennessee at this point. And I’m nowhere near connected to Freeze, but that’s also not a wild *** guess, if that makes sense? There’s some momentum there, and things happening already

I think Tennessee too. Got good Memphis connections for recruiting, and not far from Atlanta. I could see him executing the same national recruiting footprint there.

Would Ole Miss hire him again?

My guess is Tennessee or South Carolina

Doubt it will be Tennessee; Fulmer won't pull the trigger on Pruitt this soon. I'd say USC-E IF anywhere in the SEC. Texas a definite possibility, but Penn State may also be in play.

No. Besides, they already have a coach and only way he leaves is if he gets another offer at end of year. He sure as hell ain't getting fired for on field performance based on doing his best to put his players in a position to win, the defense notwithstanding. Freeze at OM ship has sailed.

Penn State would be funny...from the Sandusky stuff to Franklin, who oversaw all kinds of problems at Vandy and tried to cover it up, to Freeze and hookers.

Not sure if it will be P5. Thomas Mars must give his blessing. **

I'm thinking something UCF-like.

Won't be Tennessee. At least not next year. UT just gave Germy an extension and they don't stop paying Butch till 2021.

It wasn’t that Nkimdeche didn’t know how to play.. it’s that he didn’t know how to human. As much snake oil as Freeze sells that’s not on him.

His price tag is about to be 5-7 Million... Liberty got that kind of jack? Asking cause I really don’t know.

In sports, Liberty has declared they want to be to Evangelicals what Notre Dame is(was?) to Catholics. They have pumped gobs of money into athletics to make it happen.

He got canned

Because he could not understand what his assignments were at SF.

Pros practice 8 hours a day, not 20 hours per week like college teams.

Speaks for it's self.

South Carolina. Back in the SEC, he already knows the recruiting area, and he wouldn’t have to play Alabama every year. The Freeze/Mullen rivalry would also be renewed for our entertainment. Also, South Carolina seems to have more patience so if he doesn’t have immediate success he’s not getting canned so long as he shows improvement.

Doubt many Power 5’s fire coaches during Covid. He’s not welcome in the SEC while Sankey is commish. My guess is he does one more season at Liberty and then ends up in the Big 12 at a school like TCU or Iowa State.

Also could see Tennessee hiring Scott Satterfield, and Louisville hiring Freeze.

Yuup, that was Jerry Falwell Sr's goal 30 years ago. I don't know if the current scandal will have an impact. Freeze could stay there and build the program in a contender, plus no pesky MSUs, Alabamas, etc., to shine the light on his 'cruitin activities

He may be a good coach but he makes my skin crawl. I’m generally not a judgmental person but the man just exudes dishonesty and a pervert vibe. If we hired him, me nor my checkbook would ever set foot in DWS.

I highly doubt it. Although there’s a portion of our fan base that will still be clamoring for him even if Kiffin has won back to back SEC Championships.

Who, exactly? Tunsil is a Top 10, maybe Top 5 LT in the NFL. DK is torching everyone. AJ Brown is putting up huge numbers and is Titans #1 WR. Dawson Knox is starting for Bills. Greg Little is starting for Panthers. Last I looked, which granted has been a minute, Javon Patterson was a backup interior OL for Colts. Mike Hilton at Steelers...

Treadwell has been a disappointment, but he also had a catastrophic leg injury in college. Nkemdiche under-achieved but I don’t know that has anything to do with the coaching he received. Now, it could have something to do with the coddling he received while at Ole Miss, I’ll grant you that.

They do. They also have built him a really nice house in the mountains, as part of his incentive package. It’s a “Head Coach’s house”, similar to a parsonage for preachers. Which, yes, is pretty ironic.

I think the issue with “not nfl ready” wasn’t a talent issue, it was more some comments that came from team interviews where the wr for example didn’t know route trees.

Some of the guys slipped a tad because teams were worried about their ability to digest a playbook quickly

Yuup. In their second year DK and AJ ain't doing sh*t. Goodness.

They are good enough that they got the opportunity to learn. If Treadwell had come into the league knowing how to run routes, would it have made a difference? I am guessing not. He had a good work ethic so I think he just ended up not being athletic enough, at least after his injury. The Vikings had enough invested in him as a first round pick that I'm guessing he got the reps and opportunities to learn.

But for other fringe players, knowing how to play coming out of college will be huge for them. They can't count on being good enough that their teams will be patient while they learn what most rookies know. That said, I don't think it will hurt his recruiting at all. Just like recruits don't worry about going to Alabama because it won't be them sitting the bench, they'll know that they are AJ Brown and/or DK Metcalf, not one of the guys that needs to know how to run routes when he gets to the league.

I'm kinda hoping at State ...(kidding, not really kidding). Tennessee needs him if they ever hope to beat Bama again. South Carolina would be lucky to have him.

Freeze is not a complete coach and he's obviously a bit of a phony, but you can't argue with results. He'd probably be better off staying at Liberty and trying to build a program where they have plenty of money to throw around, will look the other way when it comes to violations, and likely be forgiving if Freeze ever gets caught again. Praise Freezus!

So he had some guys who were busts in terms of on the field production. Who hasn’t?

The more important point to be made on the recruiting trail is how much the former players got and are getting paid.

You forgot Even Engram. Some MSU fans have a blindspot when in comes to Freeze, he is a great coach, i'll grant you he may be a bad person, but most don't care about that (unless caught with a live boy or dead girl - as the old political saying goes). I'd take him at MSU tomorrow.

"Liberty and coach Hugh Freeze have agreed to a contract extension that will run through the 2026 season, the university announced on Wednesday. The details of the extension were not specified, and as a private institution, Liberty is not required to disclose those numbers. However, ESPN's Chris Low reports that the deal is "lucrative" and "would place him among the top five highest-paid non-Power Five head coaches in college football."

Top 5 in G5 would put him over 3 million a year. Will take more for a P5 team to get him now.

True on Engram. Freeze can evaluate talent. Engram’s only P5 offer was Ole Miss. Mike Hilton’s only P5 offer was Ole Miss. He was a two-star RB. He hired Tom Allen and brought him to every coaching stop with him. There’s a story that he supposedly stood on the table in recruiting room and begged Orgeron to sign Dexter McCluster.

His transition class at Ole Miss was poorly ranked, but shockingly good, in hindsight. After the 2013 class, he started star chasing. And that’s what got our roster so lopsided, and then of course probation didn’t help.
