When the world stopped tuning on that September day?
Walked into the newspaper office in Hazlehurst. Secretary asked me if I'd heard about a plane ramming the trade center. I had not. Fired up Drudge Report and kept refreshing. Then, the 2nd one hit and the photo of the large fireball appeared. Immediately turned on Supertalk on my radio and it was the national CBS broadcast. Listened most of the day as we had to get the weekly paper out that day. Stayed glued to the TV all night after work.

No need to attack this guy over his comments. We are all Americans and this guy loves his country. Everybody should have a different view of what happened on 9/11 today vs what was initially reported. We will probably never know all the facts of that day.
We won’t have to worry about it going forward. I sent him off to hang out with glfr and his buddies. Won’t be seeing any of his post in the future.

In Dr. Rodney Pearson's BIS Advanced Languages class. He walked into the classroom and said the US is under attack. I took that as a country was attacking us on our soil. Didn't realize what he meant until I got in front of my TV.

Good for them. It's important for kids to understand at some level that there is true evil in the world, and we should be thankful we live where we do with the freedoms we have... and why we need to protect it. Obviously kids don't need to see everything about that horrific day, but especially at the high school level, being aware of the reality out there is good for them.

I was sitting in the classroom on the first floor of Walker (a dungeon of a classroom). Still remember our professor came in and say how pretty it was that day. We had no clue at the time. I didn't learn that it happened until my next class. A friend said they had been hit, and another came in later saying that one of the towers had collapsed. I couldn't fathom that and thought only a portion of one of the towers had fallen, not the whole thing. The reality was much worse than anything I could've imagined.

I had just parked in the parking lot by Simrall and the Student Health Center. It came on over the radio. Went to class and everyone was just glazed over not knowing what to do.

I remember seeing a television documentary about bin Laden just a few days before the attack. Once I saw what was going on that morning, and got past believing it was just a small plane, my first thought was "bin Laden". Turns out I was right. Remember that just a few years before that someone had tried to bring down one of the towers by using explosives in a ground floor parking area. So believing this attack came from radical Muslims wasn't surprising.

I learned about the first plane in Jay Keehley's Intro to Logic. The second plane hit while we were in class, though I didn't know until hearing about on the radio on the shuttle back to my dorm.

112 Hartness St behind City Bagel. Woke up and saw one of the towers burning. Thought it was a movie. Didn't realize it was live. Then the other tower got hit and I tried swapping channels because it was bumming me out. Then I noticed it was on every channel. Surreal feeling.

When the world stopped tuning on that September day?
At WorldCom in Clinton, they had a NOC inside the Data Center with several large Screens to monitor, news weather, etc, After hearing about the first crash, walked in just in time to see the 2nd impact. I'm sure it was surreal to everyone watching but to see it on those massive screens was a whole nother level. We had folks in the DC area, was chaos trying to get them home. They were finally able to rent a car and drive back.

At work at Viking Range in Greenwood. Nobody was working the rest of the day. We were all good to our computers trying to get any news site to load. Had a guy tell me that both buildings had collapsed and I didn't believe him. Last I heard they had just been hit. That afternoon I had a class at Delta St getting my business degree through work. Got to Cleveland to find out all classes cancelled. When I got back to Greenwood every gas station was lined up with cars. Those of us in my truck wondered if we had been hit again.

At home in North Carolina (used to be NCDawg13) with my sick then toddler son. Was a beautiful day, so I was actually outside washing the car with him and my now ex-wife was frantically trying to call me about the World Trade Centers. Went inside, turned on the tv, and watched the United States get attacked.
Now, 25 yrs later we have a totally different perspective as to what happened. I$r@el was responsible. Still remember douchebag Drumpf bragging about having the tallest building in NYC afterwards.
Fact:

You should seriously seek help from a mental health professional if this is what you feel is appropriate to say.

I was leaving my house on my way to work when I saw the initial news report. The channel I was watching said they believed it was a small plane. As I walked into my office at Salomon Smith Barney, turned my tv on and immediately saw the second plane hit. I couldn’t believe what I had seen. Once the towers feel I began reflecting, as I had trained in World Trade Center for two weeks soon after passing my security exams, which was in March 2000. I remembered the sheer size of the buildings and the elevators. Being from Mississippi, it was the first time I had seen an elevator bank that went from floors 50 and up. I don’t recall what floor I was in because I was in a bullpen making cold calls with not much of a view. The poor souls and what they all endured albeit dead or survivors.

When the world stopped tuning on that September day?
I was in class in my first semester in grad school. I was the only one in my next class that had an 8:00 class so I had no idea. My freshman RA who happened to be in my class told me what had happened and I still had no visual until I went to Perry to eat lunch. I was supposed to go to the lab, but just didnt feel like it so I went back to my apartment and watched the news the whole rest of the day.

That 1st attempt was Feb/March of '93. I had just graduated from STATE and took a job with Ryder Logistics. Was down in Miami at Corp HQ, for new hire orientation. Waiting to catch my flight back to Little Rock, the news feed on the terminal tv said a bomb, loaded in an Ryder moving van, had exploded in the parking garage of the WTC.

12th grade world history class. Got up and walked out. Went straight to the JROTC building and got there just in time to watch the second plane hit. Called a recruiter that day. Officially joined the Army on December 11th of 2001. 17 them mujahideen bastards. I just wish our politicians and policy makers had been as committed to killing all of them as our soldiers were.

On my way to work. I walked into the office and people were talking about a plane hitting the WTC. By the time we got to a TV, the second plane had already hit.

Working as a student worker at Mitchell Memorial Library. Went over to those tvs that were built into the stairs and saw the smoke. Remember going to McCool after work and someone had rolled a tv on a cart into the lobby.
