Where to sit at Final four

I am thinking about getting tickets to the final four, but am worried about sitting in the upper level in a football stadium. Does anyone have experience going to the final four and if so how far away is too far way to sit?

Based on my experience in Houston I'd say you're better off at the front of the upper arena than even 20 rows back in the lower. There was just no height to the lower arena which made for dreadful viewing angles. I couldn't tell what was going on half the time because I had no depth perception.

Anyone else have any thoughts? I can see not wanting to sit in lower because of how flat the incline of the seats have to be....has anyone else sat in the uppers?

I've been in the upper level all times i have gone and never had a seat to complain about, but i've also been pretty close to start of the upper level. I'm sure the more up you go the worst it gets. I've been as close as 4 rows up in the upper level and as high as 25 rows up in the upper level. I don't think i would too much past the 25th row and that was in Indy when I did that.

I would guess the best answer is going to come from someone that has been to a colts game. I have not.

I was at the final four last year and ended up watching the game on the screen the size of the basketball court so it was definitely a "I'm just happy to be a part of it " kind of thing.

I also had uppers for the superdome and it sucked.

I have been told there are no bad seats at Lucas.

Upper level to watch a basketball game in a football stadium is not something I would even think about spending money for. There is actually a 600 level. Lower level is way to expensive ($800 per ticket behind basket and as high as $2,000 in other sections).
Do you have a place to stay?

I would rather have higher level courtside seats than lower level in the end zone or corners. I had 200 level corner seats in Dallas and I probably watched the video screen as much as I watched the court.

Depends on how they set it up I guess. They would usually cut the stadium in half and not have the full stadium, but set up bleachers around the 50 yard line. I was in the upper seats almost to the top in Indianapolis last year for the Sweet 16 and was very happy with my seat.

Had lower level on the corner for the E8 Michigan game last year in Indy. Not terrible, but pretty far away from the action.

You're off on the prices. Tickets are as much as $11,000 on the lower sidelines. You can get pretty good sideline tickets toward the back of the lowest section or on the first few rows of the second section (sections 240, 241, etc), but you're going to pay around $3,000-4,000 right now. I bought mine a few weeks ago, and tickets have only continued to rise since then (and will continue to do so as long as UK is alive in the tourney).

I've sat in the 600 level for football at Lucas Oil and it was fine. The 300-500 level sections don't have very many rows, so they don't go that high. I was at the regional last year in the lower bowl, but I walked up to the top to see what the view was like and it was okay. That was with a half stadium set up. With the full stadium set up they will use, I think if you're on the side, you'll be okay. In the end zones, you're going to be pretty far away from the court. I'm in the 600 level row 6 of one of the side sections this year. It will be my first Final Four and I can't wait. Even if it is too high to see, the video boards there are nice and it should still be a great experience (if the Cats can make it!).

I've never been to Lucas Oil Stadium, but I did go to the Final Four when it was held in New Orleans and last year in Dallas. Had great seats (a few rows off of floor) in the Superdome and they were as imagined. I sat in the uppers in Dallas at AT&T for the Wisconsin game, and if not for the huge tv, would have been bad seats. However, I ended up with corner lowers for the title game, and they were pretty solid considering what was available.

Overall, "lower" uppers would be alright, but I'm just not sure if I would sit that high, in a football stadium, again To each their own.

I have been to ten Final Fours - including 2010 in Indianapolis. I have been in both upper and lower sections and no matter where I was seated, I always ended up watching the game on the giant screens. So my advice is to save your money. Buy a cheap ticket and watch the screen. The fun is being in the building. The energy is electric. I'll be in the 600 section this year - watching the screen. Go Big Blue!

I have tickets to the final four and finals and I'm in section 200. I wouldn't want to sit any higher than that.

I agree. I have only been to one Final Four (2012 in NO) and I sat in endzone lowers behind the goal (UK section). The seats were pretty good but I still had to watch alot of it on the big screen. If I cant get decent seats through UK this time then Im just going to go the cheapest route possible and watch on big screen. The energy in just being there is great and worth the experience.

OMG. That football field is 300 ft long. Imagine a 94 ft basketball court with those ants playing on it.
Think I'd rather stay at home and watch the big screen. Experience is great, but wow, just wow.
